Abstract: A falling-film evaporator includes an evaporator cylinder, a mist eliminator disposed in the evaporator cylinder, a dispenser disposed in the evaporator cylinder, a liquid baffle disposed in the evaporator cylinder, a first chamber formed at least partially by the mist eliminator and the liquid baffle on a first side of the evaporator cylinder below the mist eliminator, a gas returning chamber formed at least partially by the mist eliminator and the liquid baffle on a second side of the evaporator cylinder above the mist eliminator, a gas-liquid separation chamber formed at least partially by the dispenser at an upper portion of the first chamber, and an evaporation chamber formed at least partially by the dispenser at a lower portion of the first chamber, and where the gas returning chamber is in fluid communication with the evaporation chamber.

Abstract: A chiller includes an evaporator, a compressor including a prime mover, a first pressure sensor that detects a first pressure in the evaporator, a second pressure sensor that detects a second pressure in a condenser, and a controller. The controller determines a predicted energy level of the compressor based on the first pressure and the second pressure, the predicted energy level associated with liquid droplet flow into the compressor, compares the predicted energy level to an operating energy level, and modifies the at least one of the input power and the input current to the prime mover based on the comparison satisfying a modification condition.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a vapor compression system that includes a refrigerant loop, a compressor disposed along the refrigerant loop and configured to circulate refrigerant through the refrigerant loop, a condenser disposed downstream of the compressor along the refrigerant loop and configured to condense vapor refrigerant to liquid refrigerant, a subcooler coupled to the condenser, where the subcooler is external of a shell of the condenser, and where the subcooler is configured to receive the liquid refrigerant from the condenser and to cool the liquid refrigerant to subcooled refrigerant, and an evaporator disposed downstream of the subcooler along the refrigerant loop and configured to evaporate the subcooled refrigerant to the vapor refrigerant.

Abstract: A falling film evaporator (100), a housing (101) thereof being accommodated with a heat exchange tube (304), a perforated plate (205) and a spraying tube (202), the perforated plate (205) being provided between the spraying tube (202) and the heat exchange tube (304), such that refrigerant sprayed from the spraying tube (202) is sprayed onto the surface of the heat exchange tube (304) by means of distribution of the perforated plate (205); spraying openings (301) on the spraying tube (202) have a strip shape, and the extension direction of the openings is perpendicular to the length direction of the spraying tube (202). By means of configuring the length direction of the spraying tube (202) to be substantially perpendicular to the length direction of the heat exchange tube (304), refrigerant sprayed from the spraying openings (301) flows substantially in the length direction of the housing (101), the flow path of the refrigerant being lengthened, avoiding uneven spraying on the surface of the heat exchange tube (304).
