    Abstract: A communication apparatus according to the present disclosure includes a communication control section and a sending control section. The communication control section performs facsimile communication by way of an IP network. The sending control section performs connection confirmation processing of controlling the communication control section to send connection confirmation data in the form of image data for confirming connection to a receiving communication apparatus which the facsimile communication is directed to, and determining whether reception information indicating reception of the connection confirmation data has been sent back from the receiving communication apparatus, before sending target sending image data via the facsimile communication.

    Abstract: A communication device for communicating via a telecommunication line includes a plurality of operating units, an energy-saving control unit, an instruction receiver, and a wake-up unit. The plurality of operating units are configured to receive an electric power and operate. The energy-saving control unit is configured to alternatively run a normal mode or an energy saving mode. The instruction receiver is configured to receive an instruction for selecting the operating unit that processes target data. The selection instruction is transmitted from a transmission device connected via the electric communication line prior to the transmission of the target data. The wake-up unit is configured to supply the electric power to the operating unit so as to wake up the operating unit from the sleep state upon receiving the selection instruction during the energy saving mode if the operating unit instructed by the selection instruction is in the sleep state.

    Abstract: A network facsimile apparatus includes a transmission job accepting portion, a gateway data acquiring portion, a geographical correspondence data acquiring portion, a closest region identifying portion, and a FAX transmission requesting portion. The closest region identifying portion identifies closest geographical information from among a plurality of pieces of geographical information in geographical correspondence data corresponding to area codes of a plurality of gateway line numbers. The closest geographical information indicates a region closest to a region indicated by a piece of geographical information that corresponds to an area code of the destination line number set in the FAX transmission data. The FAX transmission requesting portion transmits the FAX transmission data, via the network, to a FAX gateway to which a gateway address corresponding to the closest geographical information has been assigned, and requests a FAX transmission to be performed via the public line based on the FAX transmission data.

    Abstract: A communication apparatus includes a main control portion corresponding to a terminal determination portion and a connection management portion. Upon determining, from identification information such as IP addresses, that a session establishment request has been received from a gateway that relays facsimile communication between an Internet network and a telephone network, the main control portion establishes a session corresponding to the session establishment request within a range of a preset first maximum number of simultaneous connections. Upon determining that the communication destination terminal is not the gateway, the main control portion establishes a session corresponding to the request within a preset second maximum number of simultaneous connections which is smaller than the first maximum number of simultaneous connections and is obtained by subtracting a preset secured number from the first maximum number of simultaneous connections which is the maximum number of simultaneous connections between the communication apparatus and the gateway.

The conveyance control portion sequentially conveys each sheet included in the sheet stack placed on the sheet placement portion along either the first conveyance route or the second conveyance route according to the conveyance route information input through the input operation.
