The host processor is coupled to the first memory. The host processor is configured to execute the first layers. The second processor is coupled to the second memory. The second processor is configured to execute the second layers.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for managing restaurant crew member staffing and positioning are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method comprises the steps of receiving at a computer processor from a database configuration data corresponding to a restaurant associated with a group of restaurants, receiving at the computer processor from the database first data corresponding to a projected consumer demand for items at the restaurant over a time increment, adjusting using the computer processor a transaction capability for a quantity of crew members required to fulfill the projected consumer demand while taking into account the configuration data, the adjustment accounting for differences between the projected consumer demand at the restaurant to a historical consumer demand associated with the group of restaurants, and dynamically determining using the computer processor the quantity of crew members needed over a predicted time increment based on the adjusted transaction capability.
Abstract:
A method for clustering of nodes for a task, and cluster so provided comprising an automatically partitioned a set of nodes having a branched hierarchy of subsets based at least on a relative distance according to at least one node characteristic distance metric, each subset having a communication node, each node within the subset being adapted to communicate control information with the communication node, and the communication nodes of respective subnets which are hierarchically linked, being configured to communicate control information with each other; and a set of output preferred nodes for allocation of portions of a task, wherein the output set of preferred nodes is dependent on both the hierarchy and the task.
Abstract:
Evaluating fraud risk in a transaction between consumer and a merchant over a network is disclosed. The merchant requests service over the network using a secure, open messaging protocol. An e-commerce transaction or electronic purchase order is received from the merchant, the level of risk associated with each order is measured, and a risk score is returned to the merchant. In one embodiment, data validation, highly predictive artificial intelligence pattern matching, network data aggregation and negative file checks are used to examine numerous factors to calculate fraud risk. A risk score is generated and compared to the merchant's specified risk threshold. The result is returned to the merchant for order disposition.
Abstract:
A polar modulator including a signal converter configured to provide a phase signal and an amplitude signal based on at least one received signal is disclosed. A digital-to-analog converter is coupled to the signal converter, the digital-to-analog converter configured to receive an augmented signal, wherein a polarity of the augmented signal is selected to minimize an absolute phase change for sequential signals. A signal mixer is coupled to the digital-to-analog converter to receive an analog signal generated from the augmented signal.
Abstract:
A voltage regulator has a device for regulating an output voltage, having an input to receive an input voltage and an output to deliver an output voltage of a constant level, and a device for correcting a drop-out voltage violation, coupled to the device for regulating, to determine an occurrence of a drop-out voltage violation and to cause the device for regulating to change the level of the output voltage upon detection of the drop-out voltage violation. A method for regulating an output voltage has the steps of receiving an input voltage, generating and outputting a regulated output voltage of a constant level, monitoring occurrence of a drop-out voltage violation, and causing a change of the level of the output voltage upon detection of the drop-out voltage violation.
Abstract:
A transceiver apparatus and a method comprise detecting means for detecting messages, wherein the detecting means comprises a first detector arranged to operate over a first detection period and which output indicates the beginning of a message with a first detection probability, and a second detector arranged to operate over a second detection period and which output indicates the detection of the beginning of a message with a second detection probability. The second detection probability is higher than the first detection probability and the transceiver apparatus is arranged to receive the message if the second detector indicates detection of the beginning of a message.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a transmitter in a transmission system operable to optimize estimates of a quantity at a receiver for improved operation. The transmission system includes a transmitting means connected to a number of antennas (Txm), and to control means. The control means controls the transmitting means to initially transmit an initial training/quantity estimation sequence during an initial training/quantity estimation phase and subsequently transmit a sequence of data symbols such that the information rate of the data symbols is progressively increased.
Abstract:
A system, minimising transmission delays and avoiding loss of synchronisation, using a contention based multiple access protocol comprises n transceivers each comprising a detector for detecting the condition of the medium and connected to a controller for switching the transceiver from receiving to transmitting or vice versa. Each transceiver also comprises a to the controller connected backoff counter operable to decrement its count at the end of each time slot when performing a backoff procedure. A transceiver which wishes to transmit and is performing the backoff procedure for which the detector detects that the medium is busy, the controller freezes the backoff counter and if this medium busy condition is subsequently determined to be a false alarm the controller resumes the backoff counter at the beginning of the next time slot after rejection of the false alarm, using the time slot timings in force prior to the false alarm event.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to transmitting wireless packets between multiple stations and changing the duration or fragmentation of the packets.
