Abstract:
Automatic parcel sizing device (10) comprising: a trihedral parcel support (12) having three panels (12A, 12B, 12C) for receiving a parcel (18) to be sized, each panel of which being disposed orthogonal to the other two panels and defining a vertex (20) at an intersection point of said three panels, an optical sensor (14) for obtaining an image of the parcel, and a processor unit (16) in signal communication with said optical sensor for determining from said image of the parcel the respective dimensions of three parcel edges (18A, 18B, 18C) which have a common vertex (18D), wherein said vertex of the trihedral parcel support is disposed upside down such that, thanks to the gravity, the parcel is always correctly placed regarding the trihedral parcel support and said optical sensor is placed below and at a fixed distance from said vertex.
Abstract:
A system for securely controlling deposition and retrieval of shipments (40), including a managing distribution centre, at least one electronic locker unit connected to the managing distribution centre through a communication network, and having several lockable compartments (28i) of different sizes, wherein said at least one electronic locker unit comprises a weighing shipment module (50) located inside each compartment (28i) and made up of an arrangement of several thin flexible force sensors, linked together to circuit board, located under upper bearing plate and attached to bottom of the compartment within respective active measuring areas.
Abstract:
An image acquisition system for processing and tracking mail pieces in a mailing system (2) of the type comprising at least one mail piece processing machine (4, 6, 8) comprising at least one accumulation device (14, 16) for producing mail pieces and generating electronic processing and tracking details for these mail pieces, at least one imaging device (10, 12) for acquiring images of the mail pieces, and a computer (24) coupled to the at least one imaging device and the at least one mail piece processing machine, the at least one imaging device acquiring the images of mail pieces for simultaneously providing both these processing and tracking details and a filling level of the at least one accumulation device.
