Abstract: A display apparatus and an fingerprint sensing method thereof are provided. A display panel of the display apparatus has a pixel circuit array, an in-display touch sensor array, and an in-display fingerprint sensor array. A driving circuit drives the in-display fingerprint sensor array to read a fingerprint image. A current display frame period is divided into a plurality of unit periods, each of the unit periods includes at least one fingerprint sensing period and one or both of a display driving period and a touch sensing period. The driving circuit resets a current fingerprint sensor in the in-display fingerprint sensor array during a first fingerprint sensing period among these fingerprint sensing periods of the first display frame period. The driving circuit reads a sensing result of the current fingerprint sensor during a second fingerprint sensing period succeeding to the first fingerprint sensing period.

Abstract: An electrode structure of a capacitive touch panel including a plurality of receiving electrodes and driving electrodes is provided. Each of the receiving electrodes has at least one opening. Each of the driving electrodes includes a main region and a plurality of elongation regions. The area of each driving electrode is larger than that of each receiving electrode. Parts of the receiving electrodes surround a corresponding one of the driving electrodes, and the elongation regions of the surrounded driving electrode correspondingly stretch into the openings of the receiving electrodes which surround the driving electrode. By using the foregoing electrode structure, the capacitive touch panel is not only capable of providing sensing signals with less noise but is also capable of increasing input signals to enhance the signal to noise ratio.

Abstract: An electronic device and a fingerprint sensing control method thereof are provided. A sensing region of a display panel is divided into a plurality of fingerprint zones. The electronic device determines at least one target fingerprint zone from the fingerprint zones according to a touched area. The electronic device scans the at least one target fingerprint zone for performing fingerprint sensing. The electronic device performs an accelerated reading operation. The accelerated reading operation includes: reading at least one sensing signal from the at least one target fingerprint zone; and skipping reading at least one of the fingerprint zones other than the at least one target fingerprint zone among the fingerprint zones.

Abstract: A driving apparatus and an operation method thereof are provided. The driving apparatus includes a first driving circuit and a second driving circuit. The first driving circuit performs a first driving mode on a panel. The first driving circuit performs the first driving mode during a first frame period among a plurality of frame periods and skips the first driving mode during a first skip period between the first frame period and a second frame period among the frame periods. The first driving circuit outputs timing control signal including a timing that the first driving mode is skipped. The second driving circuit is coupled to the first driving circuit to receive the timing control signal. The second driving circuit performs a fingerprint sensing operation different from the first driving mode on the panel according to the timing control signal during the first skip period.

Abstract: An electrode structure of a capacitive touch panel is provided, which includes a plurality of receiving electrodes and a plurality of driving electrodes. Each of the receiving electrodes has a hexagonal electrode structure. Each of the driving electrodes includes a main region. Each of the main regions has a quadrilateral electrode structure. The area of each driving electrode is larger than that of each receiving electrode. By using the foregoing electrode structure, the capacitive touch panel can not only provide sensing signals with less noise but also increase the intensity of input signals to enhance the signal to noise ratio.

Abstract: A column analog-to-digital converter and the local counting method is provided. The column analog-to-digital converter includes a plurality of analog-to-digital converters in parallel. Each of the analog-to-digital converters includes a comparator and a counting circuit. The comparator compares the ramp voltage with one of the plurality of column signals to generate a comparator output signal. The counting circuit generates a local clock by means of a voltage-controlled oscillator of the counting circuit according to the base clock and the comparator output signal, counts the base clock and the local clock respectively to generate a first counting output and a second counting output, and combines the first counting output with the second counting output to generate the counting output.
