Abstract:
A transfer method and a method for controlling the transfer of digital content. The content is available on a content server, accessible via a service gateway, and can be processed by at least two devices of a user, namely a first device known as the mobile device and at least one second device known as the rendering device. The rendering device is connected to a transfer device. The content is selected on the mobile device and rendered on the rendering device. The transfer method includes: opening a point-to-point communication channel between the mobile device and the transfer device; receiving an identifier of a service gateway over the point-to-point communication channel; connecting the transfer device to a local network using the gateway identifier received; receiving an identifier of content to be rendered; accessing the identified content on the content server via the identified gateway.
Abstract:
A method for managing connections of a multimedia content processing device having at least two different connections for providing at least one function. The method includes the following acts, implemented on the processing device: receiving a request to process multimedia content; analyzing the request so as to extract therefrom at least one characteristic of the content; obtaining a current connection for the at least one function of the device; verifying appropriateness of the at least one characteristic of the content in relation to the current connection; and, depending on the results of the verification, emitting a warning message in order to alter the current connection for the at least one function of the device to a new current connection.
Abstract:
A processing method for a processing device associated with a retrieval device. The processing device is driven by a control device and is able to control the retrieval of data on the retrieval device. The method includes, on the processing device, the following steps: receiving data to be retrieved on the retrieval device; obtaining a motion information item originating from the control device; and processing the data to be retrieved as a function of the motion information item received, independently of an initial position.
Abstract:
A system includes a user interface for allowing a user to select a data stream to be played, a receiver for receiving the data stream to be played and a transmitter for transmitting the received data stream to a device that is capable of playing the stream. The system includes a first and a second device, which are separate from one another. The first device, called a receiving device, integrates the receiver and the transmitter. The second device, called a control device, integrates the user interface and, following the selection, by a user, of a stream to be played and preview on the control device, transmits to the first device a command for playing the selected stream, the command containing data for locating the selected stream. The user interface allowing selection of the stream from content stored on a storage device, the user interface being accessible from the storage device.
Abstract:
A method for managing transfer of a rendering of an item of content onto a transfer device that is able to be controlled by several control devices. The method includes: rendering a first item of content controlled by a first control device; receiving, during the rendering, a request, originating from a second control device, to transfer a second item of content; and transmitting, to the second control device, an item of information representative of a waiting time for the transfer of the second item of content.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of managing access by a transfer device (CL1&CL3) to a content stored on a content server (SCNT), a transfer device being associated with an identifier, the method being characterized in that it comprises a prior stage including a device (MOB1) requesting authorization to access the content, the authorization request being accompanied by at least one identifier of a transfer device (CL1&CL3) that is authorized to access the content, followed by a step of making available access data (TK/SGN (TK)) for accessing the content, the access data including said at least one identifier (CL1&CL3), and a step of accessing the content, including: i. a step of the transfer device (CL1) obtaining access data; ii. the transfer device requesting access to the content, the request including the access data and the identifier of the transfer device originating the request; and iii. the transfer device receiving the content if the identifier of the transfer device (CL1) originating the transmission corresponds to an identifier authorized to access the content.
Abstract:
A method is provided for controlling the updating of a co-operative service in a local network. The service includes at least two software components, at least one first software component on a first terminal referred to as a “mobile” terminal and at least one second software component on a second terminal referred to as a “receiver” terminal. The mobile terminal is connected to a network other than the local network, and referred to as the “mobile” network. The receiver terminal is suitable for communicating with the mobile terminal. The method includes: receiving on the mobile terminal an update of the service from the mobile network; and transmitting the update of the second software component to the receiver terminal.
Abstract:
A method and device for controlling the rendering of digital content that is progressively downloaded on a content server in a wide-area communication network. The content can be accessed via at least one service gateway, and can be downloaded in order to be rendered on at least one rendering device that can communicate with the service gateway and that is equipped with a native remote control device. The method includes: reception, from the rendering device, of a datum relating to a command selected on the native remote control device; generation of a request for the progressive download of digital content associated with the selected command, based on the datum received; transmission of the progressive download request to the content server via the service gateway.
