Abstract: An automatic dishwashing composition is provided including a builder; a phosphonate; a nonionic surfactant; and a dispersant polymer, comprising: 10 to 65 wt % of structural units of formula I wherein each R1 and R2 is independently selected from a hydrogen and a C1-3 alkyl group; 10 to 80 wt % of structural units of formula II wherein each R3 is independently selected from a hydrogen and a —C(O)CH3 group; and 10 to 65 wt % of structural units of formula III wherein each R4 is independently selected from a hydrogen and a —CH3 group; and wherein at least one of R1 and R2 is a C1-3 alkyl group in at least 1 mol % of the structural units of formula I in the dispersant polymer; wherein the dispersant polymer has a lactone end group and wherein the dispersant polymer has a weight average molecular weight of 1,500 to 6,000 Daltons.

Abstract: A method for producing a blend of at least one first polymer and at least one second polymer. The first polymer comprises: (a) polymerized units of 22 to 80 wt % of one or more monoethylenically unsaturated C3-C6 carboxylic acid monomers, and (b) polymerized units of 20 to 78 wt % of one or more C1-C12 alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers, and has a weight-average molecular weight from 20,000 to 100,000; and the second polymer comprises polymerized units of 50 to 100 wt % of one or more monoethylenically unsaturated C3-C6 carboxylic acid monomers and has a weight-average molecular weight from 1,000 to 45,000. The first polymer comprises from 1 to 50 wt % of total weight of the first and second polymers. At least one first polymer at a pH from 3 to 4 with at least one second polymer at a pH from 2 to 4 are combined.

Abstract: A phosphorus-free automatic dishwashing detergent composition comprising: (a) 0.5 to 8 wt % of a first polymer comprising polymerized units of: (i) 60 to 82 wt % (meth)acrylic acid, (ii) 10 to 30 wt % of a monoethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and (iii) 8 to 25 wt % 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS); and having Mw from 5,000 to 100,000; (b) 0.5 to 8 wt % of a second polymer comprising polymerized units of: (i) 60 to 95 wt % (meth)acrylic acid, (ii) 5 to 40 wt % 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS); and having Mw from 5,000 to 100,000; (c) 15 to 50 wt % carbonate, (d) 5 to 50 wt % citrate and (e) 10 to 30 wt % of a bleaching agent.

Abstract: The present invention provides novel polymerizable monomers having chelating functionality and processes to make them. The polymerizable vinyl monomer may be selected from (0-, m-, p-)DVBMO, allyl glycidyl ether, and glycidyl (meth)acrylate.
