Abstract: A process for producing olefins and aromatics comprising converting plastics to a hydrocarbon product comprising a gas phase and a liquid phase in a pyrolysis unit; separating the hydrocarbon product into a hydrocarbon gas stream comprising the gas phase and a hydrocarbon liquid stream comprising the liquid phase; feeding the hydrocarbon gas stream to a gas steam cracker to produce a gas steam cracker product comprising olefins, wherein an olefins amount in the gas steam cracker product is greater than in the hydrocarbon gas stream; separating the hydrocarbon liquid stream into a first fraction (b.p. 300° C.); feeding the first fraction to a liquid steam cracker to produce a liquid steam cracker product comprising olefins and aromatics, wherein an olefins amount in the liquid steam cracker product is greater than in the first fraction; and recycling the second fraction to the pyrolysis unit.

Abstract: A process for processing mixed plastics comprising simultaneous pyrolysis and dechlorination of the mixed plastics, the process comprising contacting the mixed plastics with a zeolitic catalyst in a pyrolysis unit to produce a hydrocarbon product comprising a gas phase and a liquid phase; and separating the hydrocarbon product into a hydrocarbon gas stream and a hydrocarbon liquid stream, wherein the hydrocarbon gas stream comprises at least a portion of the gas phase of the hydrocarbon product, wherein the hydrocarbon liquid stream comprises at least a portion of the liquid phase of the hydrocarbon product, wherein the hydrocarbon liquid stream comprises one or more chloride compounds in an amount of less than about 100 ppmw chloride, based on the total weight of the hydrocarbon liquid stream, and wherein the hydrocarbon liquid stream is characterized by a viscosity of less than about 400 cP at a temperature of 300° C.

Abstract: A process for processing plastic waste comprising converting plastic waste to hydrocarbon liquid and a first C1-4 gas; contacting hydrocarbon liquid with a first hydroprocessing catalyst in hydroprocessing unit to yield a second C1-4 gas and a first hydrocarbon product comprising C5+ liquid hydrocarbons; introducing the first hydrocarbon product to a first separating unit to produce treated hydrocarbon stream comprising C5-8 hydrocarbons and a first heavies stream comprising C9+ hydrocarbons; contacting the first heavies stream with a second hydroprocessing catalyst in hydrodealkylating unit to yield a second hydrocarbon product comprising C5+ liquid hydrocarbons and a third C1-4 gas; conveying the second hydrocarbon product to the first separating unit; feeding treated hydrocarbon stream to steam cracker to produce steam cracker product; separating steam cracker product into olefin gas, saturated hydrocarbons gas, aromatics, and a second heavies stream; and conveying the second heavies stream to hydroprocessing unit.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods of reduction of chlorine in pyrolysis products derived from a mixed plastics stream. Methods may comprise: (a) causing pyrolysis of a plastic feedstock to produce a first stream of C1-C4 gaseous hydrocarbons and light gas olefins and a second stream comprising the remaining pyrolysis components. The second stream and hydrogen gas may be fed into a hydrocracker to produce a third stream of gaseous C1-C4 hydrocarbon gases and a fourth stream comprising the remaining hydrocracker components. The fourth stream may be fed to either (i) a steam cracker to produce a fifth stream comprising C1-C4 gaseous hydrocarbons and light gas olefins, a sixth stream comprising C6-C8 hydrocarbons and a seventh stream comprising hydrocarbons heavier than C8; or (ii) a fluidized catalytic cracker to produce an eighth stream comprising C1-C4 gases and light gas olefins and a ninth stream comprising hydrocarbons that are C5 or greater.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing olefins and aromatic compounds from a hydrogen lean carbon containing feed, the method comprising hydropyrolyzing the hydrogen lean carbon containing feed in the presence of a hydrogen donor feed under reaction conditions sufficient to produce a product comprising olefins and aromatic compounds or a hydrocarbonaceous stream, wherein the hydrocarbonaceous stream is further processed into olefins and aromatic compounds, wherein the olefins and aromatic compounds from (i) or the hydrocarbonaceous stream from (ii) are each obtained by hydrogenation of the hydrogen lean carbon containing feed with the hydrogen donor feed and cracking of carbonaceous compounds comprised in the hydrogenated feed, and wherein the hydrogen donor feed comprises a compound that donates hydrogen to carbonaceous compounds in the hydrogen lean feed.
