Abstract:
Process for manufacturing a purified aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution, in which a crude aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution is subjected to a washing operation with at least one organic solvent, and wherein an organophosphorus chelating agent is added to the organic solvent.
Abstract:
A process for removal of hydrogen peroxide from an aqueous solution which can be employed for the treatment of aqueous solutions such as industrial waste-water streams from hydrogen production plants, paper bleaching factories and semi-conductor manufacturing plants, wherein said process comprises contacting at a pH above 4, an aqueous solution containing hydrogen peroxide with a fixed bed of an iron oxide for catalytically decomposing the hydrogen peroxide.
Abstract:
A method for the production of a solution of peracetic acid (PAA) containing at most 23 wt % PAA according to which acetic anhydride optionally containing acetic acid (AA) is added in a controlled manner to a diluted solution of hydrogen peroxide, wherein the diluted solution of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) has a concentration and is used in an amount such that it if the amount of water required to hydrate all of the added acetic anhydride is subtracted therefrom, it still contains in weight, at least 50% (preferably 54%) of water based on the total amount of water and hydrogen peroxide.
Abstract:
A process includes preparing a crude aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution by auto-oxidation of at least one alkylanthraquinone in a working solution that includes at least one organic solvent and the at least one alkylanthraquinone; and washing the crude aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution with a mixture of at least one organic solvent and an organophosphorous chelating agent to create a purified aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution having less than 100 ppb Cr; wherein the organic solvent used for the washing is not part of the working solution and is not recycled into it.

Abstract:
Process for manufacturing an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution comprising the following steps: —hydrogenating a working solution which comprises an alkylanthraquinone and/or tetrahydroalkylanthraquinone and a mixture of a non-polar organic solvent and a polar organic solvent wherein the concentration of non-polar organic solvent in said mixture is equal to or higher than 30 wt %; —oxidizing the hydrogenated working solution to produce hydrogen peroxide; and—isolating the hydrogen peroxide, wherein the polar organic solvent is a substituted cyclohexane carbonitrile.
Abstract:
A process for removing sulfur compounds from a liquid composition immiscible with water, comprising at least partially oxidizing the sulfur compounds by contacting a liquid composition comprising at least one sulfur compound with an aqueous oxidizing solution comprising at least one oxidant in the presence of at least one polyoxometalate and amphiphilic solid particles.
