Abstract: A display driver IC includes a chromatic aberration correction (CAC) circuit and a drive circuit. The CAC circuit is configured to receive a first input color plane for a first color. The first input color plane includes a center region and a peripheral region that surrounds the center region of the first input color plane. The CAC circuit is further configured to generate an output color plane. The output color plane includes a center region and a scaled peripheral region that surrounds the center region of the output color plane. The center region of the output color plane is the same as the center region of the first input color plane. The scaled peripheral region is generated by scaling the peripheral region. The drive circuit is configured to update a display panel based on the output color plane.

Abstract: A display driver comprises control circuitry configured to store a default gamma curve, determine a count of in-region pixels of a target pixel in a display panel and neighboring pixels of the target pixel, the in-region pixels being located in a predetermined region of the display panel, and determine a scale factor based on a ratio of the count of the in-region pixels to a total number of the target pixel and the neighboring pixels. The control circuitry also determines a modified gamma curve by scaling the default gamma curve with the scale factor. The display driver further comprises image processing circuitry configured to apply a gamma transformation based on the modified gamma curve to image data defined for the target pixel to generate output voltage data for the target pixel.

Abstract: A system and method for encoding, transmitting and updating a display based on demura calibration information for a display device comprises generating demura correction coefficients based on display color information, separating coherent components from the demura correction coefficients to generate residual information, and encode the residual information using a first encoding technique. Further, the image data may be divided into data streams, compressed and transmitted to from a host device to a display driver of a display device. The display driver decompresses and drives subpixels of the pixels in based on the decompressed data. The display driver updates the subpixels of a display using corrected greyscale values for each subpixel are determined from the decompressed data.
