An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a communication module, a sensor module, a sound input module, a sound output module, a memory including a buffer, and a processor. The processor is configured to determine whether an external electronic device has at least one speaker and/or microphone, select, a speech reception device from among the electronic device and the external electronic device based on sensing information received when a call is connected, select a speech transmission device, from among the electronic device and the external electronic device based on a comparison of a speech signal received from the electronic device with a speech signal received from the external electronic device when a call is connected, and if the speech transmission device and the speech reception device are different devices, enable at least one microphone included in the speech transmission device, disable at least one speaker included in the speech transmission device, disable at least one microphone included in the speech reception device, and enable at least one speaker included in the speech reception device, acquire an echo reference signal related to reception speech received from the speech reception device and store the echo reference signal in the buffer, determine, based on comparison of the stored echo reference signal to transmission speech received from the speech transmission device, an EPD value relating to an echo signal included in the transmission speech, and cancel the echo signal by using the echo reference signal and the determined EPD value.

According to various embodiments of the disclosure, an electronic device includes a first speaker, a second speaker, at least one sensor that detects a state of at least one of the first speaker and the second speaker and at least one processor electrically connected to the first speaker, the second speaker and the at least one sensor, wherein the at least one processor outputs an audio signal through the first speaker and the second speaker, identifies states of the first speaker and the second speaker by using the at least one sensor, and decreases a volume level of an audio signal output by the first speaker and increases a volume level of an audio signal output by the second speaker when it is determined that the state of the first speaker is an abnormal state. In addition, various embodiments understood from the specification are possible.

An audio processing method and an electronic device for supporting the same are provided. The audio signal processing method includes checking property information of an audio signal in response to a request for playing the audio signal; processing, when property information fulfills a first condition, the audio signal using the first method and, when the property information fulfills a second condition, the audio signal using the second method; and outputting the audio signal processed using one of the first and second methods through a speaker.

The present document relates to a method and an electronic device for adjusting an output level of a speaker on the basis of a distance from an external electronic device, and the electronic device may comprise: a speaker; a first communication circuit; a second communication circuit; a processor; and a memory electrically connected to the processor, wherein the memory stores instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to: receive a signal, broadcast by an external electronic device, through the first communication circuit; determine a distance from the external electronic device at least on the basis of the received signal; and adjust, at a designated level, an output level of the speaker for outputting an audio signal received from the external electronic device by using the second communication circuit, at least on the basis of the distance determined to belong to a designated range. In addition, various embodiments are possible.

An electronic device includes a processor. The processor is configured to examine the sound level of an audio signal obtained from an external object for a preset time; change, if the frequency with which the sound level becomes higher than or equal to a specified level satisfies a preset condition, a reference level, at which the gain value for audio signal amplification is changed in accordance with the amplitude change of the audio signal, for at least one section of the audio signal satisfying the preset condition; and amplify the at least one section of the audio signal according to the changed reference level.
