Abstract: An in-cell touch panel includes a mode switching control circuit and a counter substrate electrode control circuit. The mode switching control circuit switches, in a time-division manner, the operation mode of the in-cell touch panel between a display mode in which a display signal is supplied by a display control circuit to pixel electrodes, and a touch detection mode in which a driving signal is supplied by a driving control circuit to touch sensor electrodes. The counter substrate electrode control circuit supplies a counter substrate electrode with a signal that is in synchronization with the driving signal and that has the same polarity as that of the driving signal in a period while the in-cell touch panel is in the touch detection mode, or causes the potential of the counter substrate electrode to be in a floating state in a period while the in-cell touch panel is in the touch detection mode.

Abstract: A touch panel includes a first touch detection electrode including a first main portion and a first sub-portion, a second touch detection electrode including a second main portion and a second sub-portion, a first connecting line that connects the first main portion and the first sub-portion, and a second connecting line that connects the second main portion and the second sub-portion. The first sub-portion is disposed away from the first main portion. The second sub-portion is disposed away from the second main portion. The first and second sub-portions are disposed between the first and second main portions. The first and second connecting lines are formed in a layer that is a different layer from a layer in which the first and second touch detection electrodes are formed.

Abstract: A touch panel system includes a touch panel including a drive electrode, a position detection electrode, and a pressing detection electrode, and a controller configured to impart a drive signal to the drive electrode and acquire signal values from each of the position detection electrode and the pressing detection electrode. The controller detects a position of an indicator on the basis of the signal values obtained from the position detection electrode and calculates a magnitude of pressing of the indicator on the basis of signal values in a pressing detection range corresponding to the detected position of the indicator among the signal values obtained from the pressing detection electrode.

Abstract: A touch panel system includes a touch panel including a drive electrode, a position detection electrode, and a pressure detection electrode, and a controller configured to impart a drive signal to the drive electrode and acquire a signal value from each of the position detection electrode and the pressure detection electrode. The controller is configured to detect a touch range by a pointer based on the signal value obtained from the position detection electrode, determine a pressure detection range corresponding to the touch range, of the signal value obtained from the pressure detection electrode, and calculate a magnitude of a pressure by the pointer based on the signal value in the pressure detection range.

Abstract: A touch panel system includes a capacitive touch panel and a controller that controls the touch panel. The touch panel includes drive electrodes and floating island electrodes located on a first substrate and position detection electrodes, pressure detection electrodes, and heat detection electrodes located on a second substrate. The drive electrode overlaps at least part of the heat detection electrode and at least part of the pressure detection electrode, and the floating island electrode overlaps at least part of the position detection electrode in plan view. The controller provides a drive signal to the drive electrodes and the heat detection electrodes and corrects a pressure detection signal obtained from each of the pressure detection electrodes by using a heat detection signal obtained from a change in a coupling capacitance between the pressure detection electrode and the heat detection electrode.
