    Abstract: Augmented reality (AR) systems, devices, media, and methods are described for creating a handcrafted AR experience. The handcrafted AR experiences are created by capturing images of a scene, identifying an object receiving surface and corresponding surface coordinates, identifying a customizable AR primary object associated with at least one set of primary object coordinates, generating AR overlays including the customizable AR primary object for positioning adjacent the object receiving surface, presenting the AR overlays, receiving customization commands, generating handcrafted AR overlays including customizations associated with the customizable AR primary object responsive to the customization commands, presenting the handcrafted AR overlays, recording the handcrafted AR overlays, creating a handcrafted AR file including the recorded overlays, and transmitting the handcrafted AR file.

    Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) device is interfaced to an Internet of Things (IoT) device by receiving IoT device information in a standardized schema from the IoT device. The IoT device information includes device inputs and available output information for the IoT device. A predetermined AR user interface widget to render for the IoT device is determined from the received IoT device information. The predetermined AR user interface widget converts user inputs to the AR device into the device inputs for the IoT device. Upon selection of the IoT device by the AR device, the predetermined AR user interface widget for the selected IoT device is provided to the AR device as an overlay on a display of the AR device. Device input received in response to user interaction with the AR user interface widget is provided to the IoT device in an input type expected by the IoT device.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, devices, computer readable media, and other various embodiments are described for location management processes in wearable electronic devices. Performance of such devices is improved with reduced time to first fix of location operations in conjunction with low-power operations. In one embodiment, low-power circuitry manages high-speed circuitry and location circuitry to provide location assistance data from the high-speed circuitry to the low-power circuitry automatically on initiation of location fix operations as the high-speed circuitry and location circuitry are booted from low-power states. In some embodiments, the high-speed circuitry is returned to a low-power state prior to completion of a location fix and after capture of content associated with initiation of the location fix. In some embodiments, high-speed circuitry is booted after completion of a location fix to update location data associated with content.

    Abstract: Eyewear having a light array and vibration sensors for indicating to a user the direction and distance of an object relative to the eyewear to help a user understand and avoid objects. To compensate for partial blindness, the front portion of the eyewear frame may include the light array, where one or more lights of the light array is illuminated to indicate a corresponding direction of a proximate object. The relative brightness of the one or more lights indicates how close the object is, where brighter light(s) indicates a close object. To compensate for more severe partial blindness or complete blindness, the eyewear has haptics, such as a plurality of vibration devices on the front portion of the eyewear, such as in the bridge, which selectively vibrate to indicate a direction of the object. The stronger the vibration, the closer the object.

    Abstract: An eyewear device includes an image display and an image display driver coupled to the image display to control a presented image and adjust a brightness level setting of the presented image. The eyewear device includes a user input device including an input surface on a frame, a temple, a lateral side, or a combination thereof to receive from the wearer a user input selection. Eyewear device includes a proximity sensor to track a finger distance of a finger of the wearer to the input surface. Eyewear device controls, via the image display driver, the image display to present the image to the wearer. Eyewear device tracks, via the proximity sensor, the finger distance of the finger of the wearer to the input surface. Eyewear device adjusts, via the image display driver, the brightness level setting of the presented image on the image display based on the tracked finger distance.
