Abstract: A feedstock material for use as a support material in an additive manufacturing system includes a pre-ceramic material in powder form. The preceramic material comprises calcium carbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium aluminate or combinations thereof. The feedstock material includes a thermoplastic binder having the pre-ceramic material dispersed therein, wherein the pre-ceramic material and the thermoplastic binder are in a filament form. The filament is configured to be melted and extruded to form a support structure for a ceramifable article in a layer by layer manner, wherein the pre-ceramic material is at least about 50% of the feedstock material.

Abstract: A polymeric blend includes a blend of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) polymers. The polymeric material includes a blend of at least two PVP polymers wherein at least one of the PVP polymers has an average molecular weight of about 40,000 daltons or greater. The support material can be thermally stable at temperatures above 80° C. The support material is disintegrable in aqueous solutions such as tap water.

Abstract: A polymeric blend includes a blend of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) polymers. The polymeric material includes a blend of at least two PVP polymers wherein at least one of the PVP polymers has an average molecular weight of about 40,000 daltons or greater. The support material can be thermally stable at temperatures above 80° C. The support material is disintegrable in aqueous solutions such as tap water.

Abstract: A polymeric composition is used as a consumable material in 3D printer. The composition includes a water soluble polymer or polymer blend that is at least about 50 wt % of the total weight of the composition. The composition includes a rheologic modifier that is at least about 1 wt % of the total weight of the polymeric composition. The composition includes a filler that is at least about 10 wt % of the total weight of the polymeric composition. At least 90 wt % of the individual ingredient compositions before mixing are water soluble.
