    Abstract: Disclosed are furniture systems including at least one reclining assembly. The reclining assembly can be configured to seamlessly integrate and couple to a modular furniture assembly, having a footprint that substantially fits within the geometric specifications of the footprint of the modular furniture assembly. The reclining assembly can have a general appearance that is substantially similar to the modular furniture assembly when the reclining assembly is in the un-reclined position. The reclining assembly can include a reclining mechanism that permits transitioning the reclining assembly between a shallow and deep seat configuration. The reclining assembly can include a rotatable footrest panel. The reclining mechanism can include rotating gears that ride on gear rails, to effect the reclining movement and/or extension of the footrest panel.

    Abstract: A modular furniture assembly is disclosed herein. The assembly includes a base, an upright member, and one or more connector plates configured to selectively couple a bottom portion of the base to a bottom portion of the upright member. The base and the upright member are sized and configured in a particular defined spatial relationship where the length (X) of the base is substantially equal to the sum of the width (Y) of the base and two times a dimension (Z) which is the width (Z1) of the upright member or a separation distance (Z2) between adjacent receiving holes of the base and upright member. Thus, X is substantially equal to Y+2Z.

The induction charger can be at least partially secured to either the base frame or the transverse member frame. The induction charger provides induction charging to a device positioned adjacent to a charging surface of the base or transverse member. The charging surface is positioned adjacent to the induction charger. Additionally, the induction charger is positioned between a first and second cushioning material. The first cushioning material is adjacent to (e.g., proximal to or on) the charging surface. The first and second cushioning materials have respective depths.

    Abstract: An electronic furniture assembly of the present invention comprises: (i) a furniture assembly comprising: (A) a base (e.g., a seat portion), (B) at least one transverse member (e.g., a side, armrest or backrest), and (C) a coupler for selectively coupling the base to the transverse member; and (ii) artificial intelligence mounted within one or more portions of the furniture assembly. A speaker system can also be provided within the furniture assembly. The artificial intelligence (AI) can respond to and/or obey voice or other commands from a user. The AI can provide numerous functions, e.g., control of the speaker system within the furniture assembly, control of a recliner assembly that is part of the furniture system, or the like. The furniture assembly can include a selectively dockable speaker as part of a speaker system.

    Abstract: A furniture system including a base and transverse member, with an induction charger provided in the transverse member and/or base, hidden from view and feel, embedded, e.g., at least 10 mm below the charging surface. In an embodiment, the transverse member includes a frame having an upper panel and an induction charger elastically secured at least partially above the upper panel such that the induction charger is elastically pushed down toward or through the upper panel when a force is exerted downward onto the induction charger. The induction charger elastically yields downward or otherwise toward or into the furniture system in response to loads, such as loads from sitting on the induction charger, to prevent damage thereto. The induction charger can elastically yield as such and still be positioned close enough to the surface of the furniture system to effectively charge electronic devices placed thereon.

    Abstract: A furniture system with a reclining assembly including a modular furniture assembly and a reclining assembly. A passageway in the reclining assembly allows coupling to a slit in the modular furniture assembly with a coupler. The reclining assembly includes a housing and a footrest assembly that moves with respect to the housing. An additional base can be coupled to the front end of the footrest assembly, with one or more (e.g., two) sled rails mounted on an underside of the additional base, such that the additional base slides on the sled rails as the footrest assembly moves from the compressed non-reclined position to the extended position.

    Abstract: Furniture spring systems are configured to provide support for different sized modular seating systems and/or modular bed systems. Slats extend between opposing frame or rail members to provide support to the seating or bed system. The slats have a catch disposed at a first or second end. In the seating and/or bed frame systems, the catch engages a retention member to retain the slat to the frame or rail. Adjustable bed frame systems employing such slats comprise modular bed frames and adjustable head boards and foot boards. Bed frames employing the slats and headboards/footboards thereof adjust in length or width in a variety of different manners. Adjustable bed frames adjust through the use of telescoping members, filler blocks and/or elongate end blocks that have different sizes from the standard uniform elongate support blocks employed in a bed frame.
