    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatus for accessing a Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) server in a media scene description system. A CoAP request can be sent, by a media access function (MAF) of processing circuitry implementing the media scene description system using an application programming interface (API), to the CoAP server to request a media resource. The MAF can be configured as a CoAP client or a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)-CoAP proxy. A CoAP response can be received, by the MAF using the API, from the CoAP server. In an example, the CoAP response includes the requested media resource. In an embodiment, the MAF is compatible with both the CoAP request according to a CoAP communication protocol and a proxy request according to an HTTP communication protocol.

    Abstract: An example method of video decoding includes decoding prediction information for a current block, the prediction information indicating a plurality of combinations of processed reconstructed samples and corresponding output values of a filtering process. The method also includes performing the filtering process on processed reconstructed samples of a first color component of the current block, the processed reconstructed samples of the first color not being included in the plurality of combinations of the processed reconstructed samples indicated in the prediction information. The method further includes determining an output value of the filter process based on one of: a default value, a predicted output value, and one of the output values indicated in the prediction information; and reconstructing the current block based on the output value being applied to reconstructed samples of a second color component of the current block, the second color component being different from the first color component.

    Abstract: A method of video processing in a decoder includes determining, by a processor, an initial block vector for predicting a current block in a current coding tree unit (CTU) in response to the current block being predicted in an intra block copy (IBC) mode. The initial block vector is determined based on a merge index included in a coded video bitstream. The method further includes performing, by the processor, template matching based on the initial block vector indicated by the merge index in the video bitstream to determine a refined block vector that points to a reference block in a picture as the current block, and reconstructing, by the processor, the current block based on the reference block.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for video decoding are disclosed. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that decodes prediction information of a current block that is indicative of an intra block copy mode. The current block is in a current region of a plurality of regions of a current coding tree unit (CTU) in a current picture. The processing circuitry determines a block vector for the current block, a reference block indicated by the block vector being in a search range that excludes at least a region in a previously reconstructed CTU that is collocated with the current region of the current CTU, a position of the collocated region in the previously reconstructed CTU having a same relative position as the current region in the current CTU, the search range being in the current picture. The processing circuitry reconstructs at least one sample of the current block according the block vector.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for decoding multiple semantically independent picture parts into a single video picture includes decoding unique picture order count values for each coded picture, coded slice, or coded tile in a coded video sequence, with multiple decoded pictures, cycles, and tiles belonging to a same access unit representing a frame of the video. A value representing the amount of pictures, cycles, or tiles, is then assigned to each access unit for assigning sequential access unit count values to the access units. As a result, each access unit, which represents multiple pictures, slices, or tiles to be combined into a single frame, is decoded for display processing.

    Abstract: An apparatus for video encoding includes processing circuitry that is configured to decode partition information from a coded video bitstream. The partition information is indicative of a minimum allowed QT leaf node size for a I slice. The minimum allowed QT leaf node size for the I slice is constrained by a threshold that is lower than a CTU size. The processing circuitry is configured to determine, based on an override enabling flag, the minimum allowed QT leaf node size according to one of a first syntax element in an SPS or a second syntax element in a PH included in the partition information. The processing circuitry is configured to partition a coding tree block in the I slice into coding blocks based on the determined minimum allowed QT leaf node size. The processing circuitry is configured to reconstruct the coding blocks respectively from the coded video bitstream.

    Abstract: A method performed by encoder comprises partitioning a mesh into a first side and a second side; determining, for a first vertex located on the first side, whether a first perpendicular line extending from the first vertex intersects with two or more surfaces of the mesh on the second side, each intersection of the first perpendicular line corresponding to an intersected vertex on the second side; based on the determination the first perpendicular line intersects with two or more surfaces of the mesh on the second side, selecting one of the intersected vertices on the second side as a second vertex corresponding to the first vertex based on a shortest distance between each intersected vertex and a predicted vertex on the second side that is symmetric to the first vertex; and generating a new connection in the mesh.
