Abstract: Optical devices that combine imaging with spectral detection usually require bulky or expensive optics or are limited in the spectral measurements that can be made. The disclosed device uses a lens and mirror to provide two image planes: one for a pixelated detector and the other for an optical fiber assembly. The optical fiber assembly may be scanned over most or all of the field of view, or this may be achieved with a fixed fiber assembly and translatable mirror. Multiple fibers may be included in the assembly and multiple measurement or other devices may be connected to the remote ends of the optical fibers.

Abstract: A variable focus imaging lens assembly has different, calibrated settings for each of multiple different wavelength ranges. Images are captured for each wavelength range using the different settings, corrected and stacked to form an image data cube. Using multiple wavelength ranges allows a scene or object to be imaged by multispectral imagers, hyperspectral imagers and imaging spectrometers using an overall wide wavelength range.

Abstract: A multicamera imaging system includes multiple imaging subsystems. Each subsystem includes imaging optics, an optical filter, an optional shutter, a digital imaging sensor, and an analog-to-digital converter. After optional scaling, image displacement, keystone and other corrections, the captured images are aligned to result in a multi-layer registered image. Illumination metrics of individual pixels of the registered image are then calculated. The spatial distribution of the optical illumination properties of planar objects are measured, including colorimetric, photometric, radiometric, and spectroradiometric characterization and calibration of digital image displays and radiant scenes.
