Abstract: A film forming apparatus, a substrate processing apparatus, and a device manufacturing method are provided, which improve the film thickness uniformity of a thin film that is formed on a substrate by spraying a thin film material. The film forming apparatus which forms a thin film on a substrate is provided with a nozzle that sprays a thin film material and an exhaust unit that discharges a gas. An exhaust port of the exhaust unit is arranged on a side that is opposite to the direction in which the gravity acts with respect to the substrate. The substrate processing apparatus performs a predetermined process on the substrate using the film forming apparatus. The device manufacturing method manufactures a device using the film forming apparatus.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an eco-friendly and simple super-hydrophobic coating method that does not use harmful substances and special equipment. Coating according to the present invention may be performed as a single process without special equipment, and because only eco-friendly materials are used, the coating material may be easily used and discarded. In addition, even a three-dimensional pipe or a heat-exchanger having a complex shape may be modified to have super-hydrophobicity by applying the present coating, and a super-hydrophobic metal filter may be manufactured and used for oil-water separation. As a result, the present coating method is eco-friendly, simple, and applicable to various substrates, so it has great potential for application in various industries.

Abstract: A flexible and stretchable integrated electronic device includes a substrate having a stiffness gradient, wherein a rigid electronic device is embedded within the substrate. The stiffness gradient within the substrate prevents delamination at the interface between the substrate and the embedded device. The stiffness gradient is accomplished by providing at least two distinct zones in the substrate with uniform stiffness, with each zone decreasing in stiffness as in a distance from the embedded device increases, or the gradient is accomplished by having a zone with a varying stiffness.

Abstract: A temperature-responsive hydrophilic-hydrophobic conversion surface has a surface property that is hydrophobic at a low temperature and is converted to be hydrophilic when the temperature rises. Accordingly, by applying the conversion surface to the fins of a heat exchanger, frost formation can be delayed in a low temperature environment due to the hydrophobicity, and remaining meltwater can be easily dried due to the conversion of the surface from hydrophobic to hydrophilic when the temperature is raised for defrosting. Therefore, the surface property of the fins of a heat exchanger is automatically converted according to the temperature and exhibits only favorable advantages at respective temperatures, so that heat transfer performance and power efficiency of the heat exchange can be effectively improved.
