    Abstract: The invention relates to a valve train (10) for an internal combustion engine, having a first rocker arm (32) which is mounted on a rocker shaft (30) so as to be pivotable around a pivot axis (44) in relation to the rocker shaft (30), having a first gas exchange valve (18) which can be actuated by pivoting the rocker arm (32) around the pivot axis (44) in relation to the rocker shaft (30) and can thus be moved translationally, and having a second gas exchange valve (20). An intermediate piece (50) is provided which is formed separately from the first rocker arm (32) and mounted on the rocker shaft (30) so as to be pivotable around the pivot axis (44) in relation to the rocker shaft (30), can be actuated by pivoting of first rocker arm (32) around the pivot axis (44) and in relation to the rocker shaft (30) by means of the first rocker arm (32) and can thus be pivoted around the pivot axis (44) in relation to the rocker shaft (30), whereby the second gas exchange valve (20) can be actuated and can thus be moved translationally.

    Abstract: A swing bridge for a rocker arm assembly is provided. The swing bridge may be configured to be selectively actuated by a first rocker arm or a second rocker arm and span a first valve and a second valve. The swing bridge may have a bridge body, and a swing mechanism disposed at least partially in the bridge body. The swing mechanism may have a first surface for receiving motion from the first rocker arm and be configured to transfer the motion to the first valve through a rotary portion that is rotatable relative to the bridge body. The swing bridge may swing angularly upon actuation by the first rocker arm so as to actuate the first valve without actuating the second valve and actuate both the first valve and the second valve upon actuation by the second rocker arm.

    Abstract: A rocker arm assembly includes an engine brake capsule assembly. The engine brake capsule assembly movable between a retracted position and an extended position. The engine brake capsule assembly comprises a body comprising a lower chamber and an upper chamber. The engine brake capsule assembly further comprises a plunger disposed partially within the lower chamber, wherein the plunger comprises an external shoulder disposed on a side of the plunger, and a locking pin configured to extend into the lower chamber and engage with the external shoulder of the plunger.     Abstract: A valve bridge assembly for an engine includes a main body configured to engage a distal end of at least one valve stem. A receiving body is movably disposed within a cavity of the main body between a first position and a second position. The receiving body includes at least one key-receiver. A piston body is movably attached to the main body and includes a key configured to be received into the key-receiver of the receiving body. When the receiving body is in the first position. the key-receiver feature and key are misaligned and a force applied to the piston body is transmitted to the at least one valve stem via the receiving body and the main body. When the receiving body is in the second position, the key-receiver and the key are aligned and a force applied to the piston body causes the piston body to be displaced relative to the main body.

The lost motion spigot assembly (56) is configured to selectively engage a valve bridge (52) to open the first and second exhaust valves (26, 28), and the engine brake rocker arm assembly (18) is configured to selectively engage the valve bridge (52) to open only the first exhaust valve (26).

    Abstract: An engine braking system includes a camshaft, a follower, an exhaust armature, a lever, and a hydraulically actuated piston. The camshaft includes at least one cam. The cam has a lobe and a brake bump. The follower engages the cam. The exhaust armature is coupled to the follower. The lever is coupled to the exhaust armature. The hydraulically actuated piston moves the lever. Hydraulic actuation of the piston causes a change in lash distance between the cam and the follower. In an engine brake mode, the follower contacts the cam throughout rotation of the cam.

    Abstract: A switchable valve bridge for an internal combustion engine is provided that includes an outer housing, an inner housing, a locking collar, and a first ramp. The outer housing includes two valve pallets configured to interface with two poppet valves. The inner housing is slidably disposed within the outer housing. The inner housing has a first locking latch configured to move radially relative to an actuation axis of the inner housing. The locking collar is configured to move axially via an actuation force applied to the locking collar in a first axial direction parallel to the actuation axis. The first ramp is disposed within both the first locking aperture and the locking collar. The first ramp is configured to be actuated by the locking collar such that axial movement of the first ramp causes radial movement of the first locking latch.
