Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, a UPS includes an input configured to be coupled to an AC power source, a DC power source, an output configured to receive power from at least one of the AC power source and the DC power source, a first switched receptacle outlet coupled to the output and configured to be coupled to a first electrical load and a second receptacle outlet coupled to the output and configured to be coupled to a second electrical load. According to some embodiments, the UPS also includes a control unit configurable to provide a first configuration associated with the first switched receptacle outlet, where the first configuration is employed by the control unit to control a connection of the first switched receptacle outlet to the output independent of the second receptacle outlet.

Abstract: An X-ray generator system comprising a pressurized fluid source disposed for directing dielectric coolant fluid through a housing wherein an X-ray source may be electrically connected for generating X-rays, the system including a venturi device having a restricted passage through which the fluid flows and which is disposed in communication with portions of the housing where gas bubbles may accumulate in the fluid. Thus, the fluid flowing through the restricted passage of the venturi device produces a reduction in pressure which draws fluid from said portions of the housing so that any gas bubbles accumulated therein may be purged from the system.

Abstract: Current sharing in a power system having multiple PSUs comprises generating and supplying a first power and a second power to a load, and sensing a remote voltage value received by the load based on an accumulation of the first and second powers. The method further comprises determining, by the first PSU, local voltage and current values of the first power, a real impedance value of the first PSU based on the remote voltage value and the local voltage and current values of the first power, and a virtual impedance value of the first PSU based on the real impedance value of the first PSU and a reference impedance value. The method further comprises controlling generation of the first power by the first PSU based on the virtual impedance value of the first PSU.

Abstract: The liquid metal cathode is employed as a cathodic electron source in arc discharges. A small liquid metal pool serves as the arcing material, and when it is kept small, improved electron-toatom emission ratios are obtained, as well as gravity independence. However, when such a small pool is employed, feed to the pool must be free of feed rate perturbations. Otherwise, an instability in the level of the mercury in the pool results. The present invention obtains feed rate stability by providing a feed passage with a diameter which is everywhere larger than that of the feed channel which finally discharges to the pool. Feed flow impedance is provided by an elongated capillary feed channel.
