The computational complexity of MCS adaptation for linear and non-linear MU-MIMO can be reduced by avoiding QR decomposition during subsequent stages of MCS adaptation. For instance, QR decomposition can be avoided in later stages of MCS adaptation by computing an instant upper right triangular matrix (R1) directly from an earlier upper right triangular matrix (R) and an earlier unitary matrix (U), which were obtained during a previous stage of MCS adaptation. As such, the instant upper right triangular matrix (R1) is obtained without performing QR decomposition on an instant Hermitian matrix (H1H), thereby allowing MCS adaptation to be performed for the new user group with less complexity. Additionally, computational complexity of MCS adaptation for linear MU-MIMO can be further reduced by avoiding matrix inversion during subsequent stages of MCS adaptation.

Systems, methods and computer readable media are disclosed for a vectorized tile differencing algorithm for a remote desktop protocol (RDP). A server executes a CBC-variant vectorized hash algorithm that is used to produce a big key that identifies the tile, and keeps track of these big keys. Where a serial version of the algorithm operates on a single portion of the image at once—such as 32 bits—the vectorized algorithm operates on a plurality of these portions simultaneously. Where the server identifies that a tile has already been sent to a client via RDP because it has a second big key that matches the big key, it sends the big key to the client—which caches received tiles—and the client uses it to access the proper tile for display. Where the server identifies that a tile has not already been sent to the client, it sends the client the tile.

Emulating a NIC for packet transmission on hardware RSS unaware NICs in a multi-core system enables each of a plurality of slave packet engines to emulate a NIC for packet transmissions locally even though the actual NIC transmissions from the queue are handled by a master packet engine only. Each slave packet engine treats a local software-implemented transmission queue as a device queue and uses the local queue to keep track of status of data from the packet engine in the device output queue, handled by the master packet engine on behalf of the slave packet engines. As the master packet engine transmits the data from the queue and the status of the queue changes, the master packet engine and the slave packet engines may use pointers to keep track of which data packets are transmitted, which data packets are drained and which data packets are still in the queue.

A CPU determines that a motor is undergoing a forward rotation when a time difference between a detection timing of a light beam deflected by a rotating polygonal mirror and an output timing of a detection signal from a magnetic detector element falls within a predetermined range, and that the motor is undergoing a reverse rotation when the time difference does not fall within the predetermined range. With this configuration, a detection circuit for detecting voltage induced in three phases is unnecessary, and therefore the cost can be reduced. Furthermore, there is no need to detect voltage induced in each of the three phases. As it suffices to simply detect the time difference, the amount of time required to detect a rotation direction can be reduced.

A multi-phase converter includes a plurality of phase paths. Each phase path includes at least one dc-link that is independent from every other phase path dc-link such that each output phase voltage is generated from a corresponding dc-link voltage source that can be different from every other phase voltage dc-link voltage source. A total dc-link voltage level is determined for each output phase voltage. A common-mode injection voltage is calculated based on all dc-link voltage levels and all phase reference voltages. Each phase path reference voltage is then adjusted based on the calculated common-mode injection voltage, such that each generated output phase voltage level is adjusted in response to its corresponding adjusted reference voltage.

A method and controller for power dependant mains under-voltage (“brown-out”) protection is disclosed. Brown-out protection is meant for protection against overheating due to low mains voltage and associated high mains current. The disclosed method and controller allow for lower mains voltages at low load by comparing the mains voltage with a signal indicating the actual power level of the power supply. In converters such as flyback converters, this brown-out protection can be implemented by comparing the actual peak voltage of the mains voltage with a control signal that indicates the power level. In other embodiments, the mains voltage is compared to a preset level by means of a comparator. Provided the voltage passes the preset level prior to opening the control window, the SMPS functions normally. Conversely, brown-out protection is initiated if the voltage does not pass the preset level before the control window opens.

An external circuit is connected to a polarity detection terminal of a switching control IC. An increased value of the voltage of a pulse signal input to the polarity detection terminal at the time of the activation of a power supply changes in response to this external circuit. Accordingly, owing to the external circuit connected to the polarity detection terminal, the validity/invalidity of a standby mode is set. When the standby mode is validated, a blanking frequency changes in response to the voltage of a feedback terminal, and a switching loss in a light load is reduced. Accordingly, a switching control circuit and a switching power supply apparatus are configured that are able to set the validity/invalidity of the standby mode or select the method of the standby mode without using a dedicated terminal.
