A cache cluster is configuration-aware such that client initialization, access to replicated cached data and changes to the underlying structure of the cache cluster can be dynamically updated. For example, a management system monitoring a cache cluster notices a large number of requests for a key that causes a significant load on a first memory caching node. To reduce the load on the first memory caching node, the management system may cause cached data related to the key to be replicated to a second memory caching node. A configuration stored in one or more of the memory caching nodes may be updated by the management system to allow both memory caching nodes to serve the requests for the key to clients.

A single system merges primary data storage, data protection, and intelligence. Intelligence is provided through in-line data analytics, and data intelligence and analytics are gathered on protected data and prior analytics, and stored in discovery points, all without impacting performance of primary storage. As data is written it is automatically mirrored for data protection as part of a High Availability (HA) process. Real-time analysis is done in-line with the HA processing, enabling a variety of data analytics. Data content can mined from within files or blocks. The gathered intelligence is used to tag objects with extended metadata, enabling both valuable search options and rapid restore options. Data recovery begins with metadata restoration, followed by near-instantaneous access to “hot” regions of data being restored, allowing site operation to continue or resume while a restore is ongoing.

Systems and methods for identification of dependent instructions on speculative load operations in a processor. A processor allocates entries of a unified pick queue for decoded and renamed instructions. Each entry of a corresponding dependency matrix is configured to store a dependency bit for each other instruction in the pick queue. The processor speculates that loads will hit in the data cache, hit in the TLB and not have a read after write (RAW) hazard. For each unresolved load, the pick queue tracks dependent instructions via dependency vectors based upon the dependency matrix. If a load speculation is found to be incorrect, dependent instructions in the pick queue are reset to allow for subsequent picking, and dependent instructions in flight are canceled. On completion of a load miss, dependent operations are re-issued. On resolution of a TLB miss or RAW hazard, the original load is replayed and dependent operations are issued again from the pick queue.

Aspects of the present invention provide a “SuperTag” cache that manages cache at three granularities: (i) coarse grain, multi-block “super blocks,” (ii) single cache blocks and (iii) fine grain, fractional block “data segments.” Since contiguous blocks have the same tag address, by tracking multi-block super blocks, the SuperTag cache inherently increases per-block tag space, allowing higher compressibility without incurring high area overheads. To improve compression ratio, the SuperTag cache uses variable-packing compression allowing variable-size compressed blocks without requiring costly compactions. The SuperTag cache also stores data segments dynamically. In addition, the SuperTag cache is able to further improve the compression ratio by co-compressing contiguous blocks. As a result, the Super Tag cache improves energy and performance for memory intensive applications over conventional compressed caches.

The projection optical system includes a first lens group having a positive power as a whole, and a second lens group having a negative power as a whole. The second lens group includes a first lens and a second lens in an order from the display device side, both of which have negative powers. A system and method is disclosed by which the movement of virtual continuous light sources illuminating various objects or persons in a scene, can be simulated over arbitrary paths throughout the captured scene. The simulated movement of each virtual continuous light source through a captured scene can be created using a stationary array of discrete light sources, and for which no physical movement of the array or the discrete light sources is required. The actuation of each of the discrete light sources can be performed sequentially according to a pre-specified sequence by a controller. Control signals for actuating the discrete light sources are synchronized with frames captured by a camera, such that the camera never sees the transitions from illuminating one discrete light source of the array to illuminating another. Thus, with respect to the images of the scene captured by the camera, it appears that a single and continuous light source is moving along a path that is dictated by the configured arrangement of the array, as well as the sequence of illumination for the discrete light sources of the array from frame to frame.

A dual polarization radar system is calibrated based on real-time data measurements, such as measured horizontal and vertical reflectivities, ZH and ZV. In this regard, the radar system analyzes the reflected power measurements to identify which measurements are associated with reflections from a respective spherical object. Using such measurements, the system determines a system differential reflectivity value, and combines such value with reflected power measurements for calibration. Since the calibration is based on real-time data measurements, the calibration process may run simultaneously with the collection of weather data. Thus, it is unnecessary to suspend weather monitoring activities in order to perform the calibration, and the calibration can be run as often as is desired without interfering with such weather monitoring activities. Further, the calibration process is immune to the weather events within range of the radar system. Accordingly, it is possible for the calibration to be performed at any time and without interfering with the weather monitoring activities regardless of the types of weather events occurring within the vicinity of the radar system.

A flow rate adjustment method for a variable geometry turbocharger may include steps as follows. An adjustment apparatus drives an actuator to an abutment position where a power transmission member abuts a stopper. The apparatus acquires the abutment position opening amount based on an opening detection sensor's signal. The apparatus drives the actuator until the detection amount attains a pre-set amount, moving the power transmission member to a temporary control position. The apparatus acquires a temporary control position flow rate. It is acquired when an adjustment gas inflow apparatus causes the adjustment gas to flow into an exhaust turbine, and a flow rate measurement sensor measures the flow rate of the adjustment gas. The apparatus obtains a correction amount based on a difference between the temporary control position flow rate and a real control position flow rate, which is a proper flow rate corresponding to the pre-set amount.

Process for producing nanomaterials such as graphenes, graphene composites, magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxides and other nanomaterials by high heat vaporization and rapid cooling. In some of the preferred embodiments, the high heat is produced by an oxidation-reduction reaction of carbon dioxide and magnesium as the primary reactants, although additional materials such as reaction catalysts, control agents, or composite materials can be included in the reaction, if desired. The reaction also produces nanomaterials from a variety of other input materials, and by varying the process parameters, the type and morphology of the carbon nanoproducts and other nanoproducts can be controlled. The reaction products include novel nanocrystals of MgO (percilase) and MgAl2O4 (spinels) as well as composites of these nanocrystals with multiple layers of graphene deposited on or intercalated with them.

A riding crop for controlling a horse by striking its flank or hindquarters includes a slender, elongated shaft with a handle at its proximal end and a popper at its distal end. To ensure that the popper is normally the first part of the riding crop that strikes the horse, the popper has a thicker or larger cross-sectional dimension than the mid-length portion of the shaft that supports the popper. The popper can have a relatively resilient or pliable characteristic with respect to the more rigid shaft. When the pliable popper contacts the horse prior to any other portion of the riding crop, it deforms to soften or cushion the impact from the riding crop reducing the chance of injury or harm to the horse.

The invention provides a packaged tow being characterized in that a carbon fiber precursor tow having a flattened shape in cross section and having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface is layered and packaged in a packaging container in untwisted state. A front end and a back end of the carbon fiber precursor tow thus packaged are placed on a top of the fully-packaged carbon fiber precursor tow. When the front end and a back end of the tow are respectively applied with top/bottom surface identification means to identify top and bottom surfaces thereof, top and bottom surfaces on front ends and back ends of tows packaged in a plurality of packaging containers can be correctly identified and joined. As a result, thread breakage due to heat accumulation in twisted parts in a flame proofing process can be prevented from happening.
