A power converter, which performs cooling of a switching element by using a boiling cooling apparatus that makes use of a boiling phenomenon of a coolant incorporated therein, includes a control unit to control an operation of the power converter based on a deviation between an element attachment surface temperature, which is a temperature of an attachment surface of the switching element, and a cooling apparatus intake air temperature. When the deviation between the element attachment surface temperature and the cooling apparatus intake air temperature exceeds a predetermined threshold, the control unit performs control of stopping the power converter.

A cooling method is provided to remove heat generated by one or more electronic systems. The method includes providing a coolant-based cooling apparatus, redundant pumping units, redundant backup blowers, and multiple separate controllers. The cooling apparatus includes one or more heat exchange assemblies discharging heat from coolant of the cooling apparatus, and the redundant pumping units, which are coupled in parallel fluid communication, separately facilitate pumping of the coolant. The redundant backup blowers are disposed to provide, when activated, backup airflow across the electronic system(s). The multiple controllers control operation of the redundant pumping units and redundant backup blowers based, at least in part, on one or more sensed parameters. The redundant backup blowers are activated responsive to the sensed parameter(s) exceeding a set threshold to provide backup cooling to the electronic system(s) in the event of degraded performance of the cooling apparatus or the redundant pumping units.

Each pin fin is received in one of the holes and has a proximal end extending beyond the first face of the plate for conductively receiving heat, a distal end extending beyond the second face of the plate for convective heat exchange with air, a biasing member biasing the pin fin in a proximal direction, and a shoulder limiting the proximal extension of the pin fin through the hole. An apparatus may include the pin fin heatsink secured to a printed circuit board having at least two components that have different heights. Accordingly, each component is contacted by the proximal end of one or more self-adjusting pin fins that are aligned with the component.

A cooling device for an electronic machine includes an airflow channel through which external air passes, an air inlet duct through which external air is introduced and which is disposed at an upper front surface of the airflow channel and extends perpendicularly to the airflow channel, a blower fan disposed in the air inlet duct to draw in external air through the air inlet duct, an air outlet duct disposed at a lower portion of the airflow channel to discharge air from the airflow channel, and a heat-radiating unit disposed to the rear of a circuit board mounted with electronic components on a front surface thereof to absorb heat from the circuit board. The heat-radiating unit is located, apart from the blower fan, in the airflow channel. Through the improved cooling airflow structure, cooling efficiency is increased, noise is reduced and continuous cooling operation is achieved.

A second portion of the thermal plate may be in thermal communication with the housing. Apertures may be placed within the plate and a fan may be positioned to draw air through the apertures. A gap may be located between the electronic display and a transparent plate assembly, where the fan may be further positioned to force air through the gap as well.

An alignment device of a hard disk drive (HDD) bay has a casing, at least one door, and at least one alignment mechanism. The at least one door is mounted on a front sidewall of the casing. The at least one alignment mechanism is mounted on a rear sidewall of the casing. Each of the at least one alignment mechanism has a stationary seat, and an aligning panel and a torsion spring pivotally mounted on the stationary seat. The torsion spring pushes the aligning panel to pivot toward a lateral sidewall of the casing. When inserting an HDD into the casing and the HDD abuts against the aligning panel, the aligning panel pushes the HDD to slide laterally and align with the connector on the rear sidewall of the casing. Thus, pins on a rear end of the HDD can accurately plug into corresponding holes of the connector.
