The communication method includes: receiving, from a second network device, a first message indicating one or both of a first data volume of first data sent from a core network device to the second network device and from the second network device to a terminal and a second data volume of second data sent from the terminal to the second network device and from the second network device to the core network device, wherein the first data and the second data are data of a bearer, data of a flow, or data of a session, and wherein the first network device is a master node and the second network device is a secondary node both connecting to the terminal; sending, to the core network device, a second message indicating one or both of the first data volume and the second data volume.
