The air conditioner recognizing, when a human body has been detected, angles formed between the human body-detecting sensors and the human body, and calculating a distance from the human body-detecting sensors to the human body based on the recognized angles and a distance between the human body-detecting sensors, and adjusting a direction and speed of wind according to the calculated distance to the human body, and a control method of the air conditioner. Also, the air conditioner may be used as a security sensor when it does not operate.
