Abstract: A heat shrinkable tubular closure sleeve (204) having a riveted longitudinal seam. The sleeve (204) is formed from a sheet (100) comprising two longitudinal margin portions (102, 104) having a strip (120) of oriented, heat shrinkable material therebetween. Specifically, the two margin portion (102, 104) are overlapped and joined by rivets (202), each rivet (202) passing through a hole (106, 114) in each of the overlapping margin portions (102, 104). Each margin portion (102, 104) comprises a laminate (108) having a metal layer (130) sandwiched between two plastic layers (132, 134) which do not shrink when heat is applied. Placing the tubular sleeve (204) over a cylindrical article (200) and applying heat to the sleeve (204), the strip (120) shrinks to reduce the radius of the sleeve (204) to effectuate a tight wrap around the article (200).

Abstract: PURPOSE: To achieve uniform irradiation and improve the uniformity of products by providing an electromagnetic deflecting means to generate magnetic fluxes perpendicular to the plane of particle beam for deflecting and standardizing the incident angle of particles in the beam scattered by windows. CONSTITUTION: A pair of electromagnets 50, 52 generate magnetic fluxes 56, 58 to encircle scattered electron beam emitted form ordinary scanning horn windows 20, 40. When the electromagnets 50, 52 are arranged as specified, the magnetic fluxes are decreased gradually toward the center line of scannings 22, 60. The flux density given by magnetic field formers 50, 52 decreases exponentially corresponding to the distance from a ball plane, while the maximum effect is induced on the magnetic pole plane, so that electrons appearing from the scanning horn windows 20, 40 are directed toward the ends of a product for standardization and deflection. In this way, irradiation non-uniformity at the ends of a target resulting from scattered particles is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To supply a high voltage power utilizing a voltage multiplification technology in which a primary coil is preferably composed as a tube in which a plurality of secondary coils are disposed while being directed to traverse the axis of the tube. CONSTITUTION: A primary magnetic core is split into two halves serving as two poles 10, 12 around which primary windings comprising first and second half coils 16, 18 are wound and connected in series through a lead 17. A secondary coil core may have a plurality of cores and windings depending on the application. Total voltage to be generated is a function of the number of cores and the number of independent windings in addition to the number of turns of each winding. When respective secondary windings have an equal voltage, the total voltage of a voltage multiplier having n secondary coils is equal to n times of the voltage per coil. A voltage doubler rectifier circuit technology is utilized for increasing the voltage and rectifiers 26, 28 are provided as conversion members.
