Abstract: PURPOSE: An antibacterial polymer and a composition including the same are provided to ensure strong antibacterial or sterilizing power by providing gallium to a polymer and to ensure an excellent adhesive property, heat resistance, and coating property. CONSTITUTION: A gallium-containing antibacterial polymer has a repeating unit represented by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, A^+ is a functional group of chemical formula 1-a or a functional group of chemical formula 1-b; R1 is H or OCH3; R and R' are independently selected from the group consisting of C1-C10 alkylene group, alicyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon group, methyleneoxy group, alkyleneoxy group, aryleneoxy group, alkylenethio group, arylenethio group, alkylimino group, dialkylimino group, arylimino group, and diarylimino group; R" is selected from the group consisting of a halo group, cyano group, thiocyanate group, alkoxy group, aryloxy group, alkyl cyano group, aryl cyano group, alkylthio group, arylthio group, alkylamino group, dialkylamino group, arylamino group, diarylamino group, C2-C30 aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon compound with at least one double bond or triple bond; and n is an integer of 1-10,000.
