PURPOSE: A composition containing a Magnolia obovata extract is provided to ensure anticancer activity in vivo and in vitro, and to prevent and treat gastric cancer and breast cancer. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating gastric cancer and breast cancer contains a Magnolia obovata extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared by using water, C1-C4 alcohol, or a mixture thereof. The extract suppresses the proliferation of SNU-15 cells, tumor induced by SNU-15 cells, MCF-7 cells, and tumor induced by MCF-7 cells. If the insect feed, which is the present invention, is applied to a silkworm, a 1-DNJ content of the silkworm is increased and a size of stomata of the silkworm is increased.
