    Abstract: An electrode catalyst for a fuel cell, its preparation method, and a fuel cell containing the electrode catalyst are provided to improve hydrogen oxidation activity and carbon monoxide resistance. An electrode catalyst for a fuel cell comprises the palladium composite supported by a carbide compound in which an oxide coating is formed. The carbide compound is represented by MiCj, and the oxide coating is a coating comprising a compound represented by MxOy, wherein M is at least one element selected from the group consisting of W, Si, Mo, Ti, Nb, Ta, Sn, Al, Ir, Zn, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Ru; 1
