Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for fixing panels of a plate type display device and an apparatus for adjusting panel spacing are provided to maintain the panel spacing constantly. CONSTITUTION: A method for fixing panels of a plate type display device includes following steps. At the first step, an auxiliary substrate(31,32) made of a material with high optical transparency and high bent resistance are applied on both sides of a main substrate(21,22) made of a material of low bent resistance. At the second step, a liquid material is applied on the touching portion of the main substrate and the auxiliary substrate. At the third step, the main substrate is attached to the auxiliary substrate in a flat shape, and the spacing between the main substrates remains same. The auxiliary substrate is further made of glass or quartz.
