Abstract: PURPOSE: A usage for health promoting food, a whitening cosmetic product, and a medicine using a seaweed methanol extract are provided to offer various biological activities including an antioxidant effect, a whitening effect, and an anti-inflammatory effect. CONSTITUTION: Porphyra yezoensis, Undaria pinnatifida, Hizikia fusiformis, Capsosiphon fulvescens, Enteromorpha Linza are collected. The seaweeds are washed and dried, then soaked in 500ml of 70% methanol for 100g of seaweeds before extracting for a week. The extract is filtered by using filtering paper. The filtered material is freeze-dried after the concentration by using an evaporator.
