본 발명은 위성 VSAT 단말 장치 및 그 제어 방법에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명에 따른 위성 VSAT 단말 장치는 저가의 사용자 단말을 지향하는 위성 VSAT 시스템에서 실외유닛(ODU:OutDoor Unit)으로 제한 사항, 즉 불록상황변환기(BUC, Block Up Convertor)에서 자동신호레벨 제어 등의 기능이 없는 경우 등으로 인해 송신신호출력 제어 등이 안되는 경우, 인접채널에 대한 간섭 요구사항이 커서 송신 출력 제한이 큰 경우, 인접채널(반송파)의 개수가 많은 경우, 위성다중빔환경에서 주파수 및 편파(polarization) 재사용 등으로 인해 인접채널 간섭이 큰 경우, 실내유닛(IDU:InDoor Unit)에서 실외유닛으로 전달할 신호의 변조방식을 선형 또는 비선형으로 절체할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 한다. Abstract:
PURPOSE: A soft-decision demapping method of a digital signal is provided to reduce comparison calculation operation, by selecting a spot positioned in constellation with only phase information of a symbol in advance. CONSTITUTION: Reference symbols are selected using most significant bit(MSB) of a received signal. The selected reference symbols are selected according to location probability of the received signal among total reference symbols on the constellation. The maximum value of the log likelihood ratio(LLR) is acquired for the selected reference symbols. The total reference symbols are phase-shifted.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A duplex mode satellite VSAT(Very Small Aperture Terminal) terminal device and a control method are provided to switch the modulation manner of the IDU(InDoor Unit) according to a ODU(OutDoor Unit) environment and the satellite link environment ODU(OutDoor Unit). CONSTITUTION: An IDU(300) switches over the modulation manner into linear or nonlinear manner according to the control signal. A controller(400) outputs the control signal according to existence and nonexistence of the performance capability of ODU and the transmission power output control function. A IDU comprises a transmission and reception modem unit. A IDU switches over the linear or nonlinear manner the modulation manner inputted to an transmitting terminal among the transmitting and receiving modem part according to is the control signal.

PURPOSE: A transmission method at a DVB- RCS(Digital Video Broadcasting - Return Channel via Satellite) system, a receiving method, and a transmission device and a receiving device are provided to order to enhance the answer frequency estimation accuracy in the low SNR environment. CONSTITUTION: A burst configuration unit(110) includes a burst by dispersing and arranging a plurality of pilot symbols. A transmit unit(120) transmits the burst. A burst configuration part inserts the information for the dispersive arrangement of a plurality of pilot symbols into the burst. A burst configuration part divides a plurality of pilot symbols into at least 2 groups. A burst configuration part arranges the divided pilot symbols by dispersing within the burst.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for demodulating signals in a return link of a satellite system and a demodulating apparatus thereof and a method for modulating signals in the return link and a modulating apparatus thereof are provided to check a symbol of a burst signal in a reception terminal by modulating the burst signal in a transmission terminal of a return link in a satellite system. CONSTITUTION: The symbol timing of burst, which is received through a return link of a satellite system, is estimated. The estimated symbol timing of the received burst is synchronized by reference symbol timing(110). An Oerder & Myer algorithm of a non data-aided method is used to estimate a symbol timing error. A location of timing synchronous burst is synchronized to a reference burst location(150) by using a preamble symbol and a postamble symbol of the timing synchronous burst synchronized by symbol timing(130). A carrier wave of the location synchronous burst is recovered by using a pilot symbol of the location synchronous burst synchronized to the reference burst location.
