Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel esterase and a gene encoding the same, and a method for producing the esterase using the same. The esterase according to the present invention has a high activity even at high temperature and has an esterase activity even at high pH. Therefore, the esterase according to the present invention can be useful for a production of a detergent, food, and a drug.
