    Abstract: PURPOSE: A muffler is provided to reduce booming noise when an engine is driven in low speed and reduce airflow noise when the engine is driven in high speed. CONSTITUTION: A muffler comprises an inflow pipe(11) formed at a side of a case(10) to receive exhaust gas discharged from an engine and a discharge pipe(14) formed at the other side of the case to discharge the exhaust gas, flowed into the case through the inflow pipe, to the outside of the case. An inlet(15) of the discharge pipe is formed in the shape of 'U' and separated into a first inlet(15) and a second inlet(16). A first valve(18) and a second valve(19) is formed to be interlocked with an outlet(12) of the inflow pipe(11) and the first inlet of the discharge pipe. The first valve and the second valve vary the opening rate of the outlet of the inflow pipe and the first inlet of the discharge pipe according to the pressure of the exhaust gas.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: Power train mounting structure of a vehicle is provided to absorb vibration transmitted through a second bracket to a first bracket and a vehicle body, and to reduce booming noise by inserting a vibration insulating unit between the first bracket and the second bracket. CONSTITUTION: A power train(51) is supported in a vehicle body(60) with brackets. A first bracket(72) is mounted in the vehicle body by a bolt(74), and a second bracket(76) is installed in the power train by a bolt. A vibration insulating unit is inserted between the first bracket and the second bracket to absorb vibration from the power train through the second bracket to the first bracket. A rubber layer(80) is mounted between the brackets, and an elastic member is inserted to grooves(72a,76a). Vibration is generated from the power train in traveling or idling, and absorbed in the rubber layer and the elastic member through the second bracket. Booming noise is reduced by absorbing vibration with inserting the vibration insulating unit.

CONSTITUTION: A cooling system of operating fluid for a power steering system is composed of an oil reservoir tank(7) storing operating fluid; a temperature sensor(21) installed in the oil reservoir tank to measure oil temperature; a thermoelectric element(23) installed around the oil reservoir tank with penetrating; a power supply unit(24) supplying power to the thermoelectric element; and an electronic control unit(25) applying power to the thermoelectric element by selectively operating the power supply unit according to oil temperature from the temperature sensor for cooling. Cooling efficiency is improved by forcibly cooling operating fluid with the thermoelectric element.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A clutch decreases a cost, a weight and a noise by installing a location gauge and an angle sensor at a clutch pedal. CONSTITUTION: A clutch comprises a location gauge(24), an electronic controller(26) and a solenoid valve(28). The location gauge(24) senses through a resistance the amount of a rotation when a driver presses down a clutch pedal(30). The electronic controller(26) senses the variation of a resistance value by the location gauge(24). The solenoid valve(28) is formed at the release cylinder pushing the release fork which actuates the clutch according to the signal of the electronic controller(26). Therefore, the inner space of an engine room is secured, because a master cylinder and a switch actuating the master cylinder are canceled, thereby decreasing a cost and a weight. Because the solenoid valve(28) and the electronic controller(26) is connected with only one electric wire, the preventing ability that prevents a noise flowing into indoors is increased, and the prevention of a vibration is increased, thereby the silence degree of the indoors is increased.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A tire with reduced cavity resonance is provided to improve a noise characteristic by reducing cavity resonance generated from a cavity of the tire. CONSTITUTION: In a tire(1) with reduced cavity resonance, plural quarter wavelength pipes(5) relative to the frequency to be tuned are formed to the inner surface. The longitudinal direction of the quarter wavelength pipes is formed along the circumferential direction of the tire. The quarter wavelength pipes are formed inside a tread part(3) of the tire along the circumferential direction. Cavity resonance is produced from a cavity(10) in the tire and the cavity resonance comes into the quarter wavelength pipes. The sound wave propagated to the quarter wavelength pipes is reflected at the end of the quarter wavelength pipes and then the sound wave progresses in the reverse direction and thus, cavity resonance is compensated by a phase difference of 180 degrees.
