The present invention is directed to a multilayer pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) film, having a first pressure sensitive adhesive layer and at least an opposing layer, wherein the first pressure sensitive adhesive layer comprises a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition with a (meth)acrylic-based elastomeric material comprising a reaction product of polymerizable material comprising: (a) a first monomer which is an alkyl (meth)acrylate ester of a primary alcohol R1—OH, the alkyl (meth)acrylate ester being of Formula (I) CH2═C(R2)—(CO)—OR1 (I) wherein R1 is an alkyl having 14 to 25 carbon atoms and the primary alcohol R1—OH has an iso index equal to at least 2 but no greater than 4; R2 is hydrogen or methyl; and (b) a second monomer having an ethylenically unsaturated group; wherein the at least one opposing layer comprises at least one filler material. The invention is also directed to a method for the manufacturing of such a multilayer PSA film and its use.

The present invention is directed to a multilayer pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) film, having a first pressure sensitive adhesive layer and at least one opposing layer, characterized in that the first pressure sensitive adhesive layer comprises a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprising (co)polymers of: a) (meth)acrylate ester of 2-alkyl alkanols wherein the molar carbon number average of said 2-alkyl alkanols is 12 to 32; and optionally b) (meth)acrylate esters of C1-12 alkanols; wherein the molar carbon number average of the alkanols of the a) and b) (meth)acrylic acid esters is 12 to 32; wherein the at least one opposing layer comprises at least one filler material selected from the group of filler particles, wherein the filler particles are expanded perlite. The invention is also directed to a method for the manufacturing of such a multilayer PSA film and its use.

A multilayer protective tape for rotor blades of wind energy turbines is provided herein. The protective tape comprising a protective top layer comprising a polymer film, and an adhesive bottom layer. The top layer having a continuous surface (S) that is outwardly curved or outwardly trapezoidal such that the tape has a cross-sectional profile having an inner section between first and second edge lateral sections. The inner section comprises up to 30% of the width of the tape and has a thickness (Ti), while the first and second edge lateral sections have a thickness of T1 and T2, respectively, wherein Ti greater than each of T1 or T2, and the thickness (T1 or T2) of at least one edged lateral section is at most 600 μm and the thickness of the inner section (Ti) is at least 330 μm.Also provided is a method for applying the tape to rotor blades and a rotor blade protected by said protective tape.
