    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a higher abstraction level in application programming for a control system. SOLUTION: The software constituent element is provided with a function means for loading a logical function node, a negotiation means for receiving a connection instruction concerned with connection to be set up in at least one different function node and reaching an agreement with a usable connection parameter to be generated between the function node concerned and at least one different function node on the constitution step of the control system and a connection means for setting up the connection parameter agreed between both the function means and transmitting data between the connected function means in the execution time of the control system.

    Abstract: -25- For the control of an electric power transmission network, where local protection functions are implemented by a plurality of local protection devices (3,3a,3b,3b',3c) located at a plurality of locations throughout the network, the following steps are executed .cndot. measuring phasor data for voltages and currents at a plurality of locations (A, B) of the network, .cndot. transmitting said phasor data to a central processing device (2), .cndot. emulating, in the central processing device (2), protection functions that are implemented in the local protection devices (3,3a,3b,3b',3c), and .cndot. executing, in accordance with a given redundancy strategy, control commands that are issued redundantly by the local protection devices (3,3a,3b,3b',3c) and by the central processing device (2). In a preferred variant of the invention, values of predetermined parameters that are used in the protection function, in particular protection threshold values, are adapted to measured values.

    Abstract: The inventive IT Security System for intrusion detection in a private network, which is connected to a public network, comprises a processing system, a supervisory system and an interface system. The processing system detects intrusion or unwanted access of resources on a private network and alerts in case of a detected intrusion or unwanted access of resources by creating quantitative alert data. The supervisory system automatically processes the alerts or presents the alerts to a security system operator. The interface system transfers the alerts from the processing system to the supervisory system. Available data about network activity can thus be presented to the operator in an intuitive and non-technical manner. If the operator suspects the security of the network to be compromised he can safely isolate the private network from the outside world, as simple reaction to any threat endangering the private network environment.

    Abstract: The present invention is concerned with an alarm system and a method for suppressing redundant alarms in a monitored system. The alarm system comprises a process control unit, an FDI unit, a filter, and an alarm display unit. The process control unit detects anomalies in the monitored system and generates alarms corresponding to them. The FDI unit diagnoses failures in the monitored system and generates a failure-cause-effect graph comprising a list of generated alarms, along with the alarms corresponding to the causes and effects of each listed alarm. The FDI unit dynamically updates the failure-cause-effect graph concurrently with the generation of alarms by the process control unit and the diagnosis of failures by the FDI unit. The filter receives the generated alarms and identifies redundant and not-yet-classified alarms from the received alarms, by using the failure-cause-effect graph. The filter suppresses the identified redundant alarms and passes on non-redundant and the not-yet-classified alarms to the alarm display unit, for display.
