Abstract: Biodegradable polyesters (P1) contain (A) an acid component comprising (mole-%) (a1) 30-99% succinic, sebacic, azelaic and/or brassylic acid and optionally also adipic acid or their ester-forming derivatives or mixtures, (a2) 1-70% terephthalic acid or its ester-forming derivative and (a3) 0-5% compound containing sulfonate groups, (B) a diol component of propan-1,3-diol and/or butan-1,4-diol and optionally (C, D) other cited components. Biodegradable polyesters (P1) contain (A) an acid component comprising (mole-%) (a1) 30-99% succinic, sebacic, azelaic and/or brassylic acid and optionally also adipic acid or their ester-forming derivatives or mixtures, (a2) 1-70% terephthalic acid or its ester-forming derivative and (a3) 0-5% compound containing sulfonate groups, (B) a diol component of propan-1,3-diol and/or butan-1,4-diol and optionally also component(s) selected from (C) (c1) dihydroxy compounds (I) with ether function(s), (c2) hydroxycarboxylic acid(s) (IIa) or lactones (IIb), (c3) amino-2-12 carbon (C) alkanol(s) and/or amino-5-10 C cycloalkanol, (c4) diamino-1-8 C alkane(s), (c5) 2,2'-bisoxazoline(s) (III) and/or (c6) aminocarboxylic acid(s) selected from natural amino-acids, polyamides obtained by polycondensation of a 4-6 C dicarboxylic acid and a 4-10 C diamine, amino acid(s) (IVa) and lactam(s) (IVb) and polyoxazolines with recurring units (V), (D) (d1) compound(s) with not less than 3 ester-forming groups, (d2) isocyanate(s) and/or (d3) divinyl ether(s), of the following formulae: HO-[(CH2)n-O]m-H (I); HO-[C(O)-G-O-]p-H (IIa); HO-[C(O)-T-N(H)]s-H (IVa); G : phenylene, -(CH2)q-, -C(R)H- or -C(R)HCH2-; T : phenylene, -(CH2)u-, -C(R2>)H- or -C(R2>)HCH2; R, R2>Me or Et; R1>a single bond, alkylene (CH2)z or phenylene; R3>H, 1-6 C alkyl, 5-8 C cycloalkyl, phenyl with 0-3 (1-4 C)-alkyl substituent(s) or tetrahydrofuryl; n, z : 2, 3 or 4; m : 2-250; p, s : 1-1500; q : 1-5; r, t : 1-4. Independent claims are included for (1) biodegradable polyester mixture (PM) containing (P1), other biodegradable polyesters and other component(s); (2) 2 methods of preparing (P1); (3) 2 methods of preparing (PM); (4) premixes containing the (PM) components; (5) moldings, films or fibers made from the (PM).
