Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote research system providing a possibility of remote research. SOLUTION: The remote research system comprises a central laboratory site for carrying out chemical research tests, a laboratory robot for carrying out the chemical research tests, a central processing unit (CPU), a workstation 10 linked to the central processing unit for controlling the laboratory robot, a camera detecting actions of the laboratory robot when a chemical research test is being carried out and linked to the central processing unit via the workstation, and a workstation 20 for a remote user linked to the central processing unit 12 via a computer network 22 to allow remote user access to the chemical research test carried out in the central laboratory site. Execution states of the test are sent to the workstation 20 for the remote user by the camera via the central processing unit 12 and the computer network 22. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
