    Abstract: Compsns. (I) contain, on wt. (all pts. wt.) A + B + C A) 3-40% at least one graft mixed polymer B) 7-70% at least one further graft mixed polymer C) 20-90% copolymer of at least one 8-12C vinyl aromatic monomer (II) and at least one monoethylenically unsatd. monomer (III). A comprises a1) 50-80%, on A, elastomer based on polybutadiene or butadiene copolymer as core polymer and a2) 20-50%, on A, shell polymer, average particle size 0.2-1 micron (d50 value of integral mass distribution), made in 2 stages from at least one (II) and at least one (III) by grafting in first stage only (II) in amt. of 5-50% a2) then, in presence of this prod., grafting in second stage 50-95% mixt. of (II) and (III) in ratio 90:10-60:40. B comprises b1) 40-70%, on B, elastomer based on homopolybutadiene.

    Abstract: Thermoplastic moulding materials comprises (A) 1-70 wt.% (w.r.t. A+B) of a graft copolymer comprising an elastomer a1 and a shell a2 grafted onto the elastomer, the elastomer a1 consisting of butadiene alone or a copolymer of butadiene with up to 30 wt.% on a1 of styrene or acrylonitrile and having an ave. particle size of 100-750 micrometres (d50-value of the integral wt. distribution), and making up 90-50 wt.% of (A), and the shell a2 being made up of at least one 8-12C vinyl aromatic monomer (a22) and at least one monoethylenically unsatd. monomer (a23), and making up 10-50 wt.% of (A); and (B) 99-30 wt.% (w.r.t. A+B) of a copolymer hard matrix comprising (b1) at least one 8-12C vinylaromatic monomer and (b2) at least one mono-ethylenically unsatd. monomer. The grafted shell a2 is made in two stages in which (1) in a first stage, 5-50 wt.% w.r.t. a2) exclusively of the vinyl aromatic monomer is graft polymerised and (2) in a second stage 50-95 wt.% (w.r.t. a2) of a mixt. of a22 and the monomer a23 in a wt. ratio of 90:10 to 66:34 is graft polymerised in the presence of the elastomer a1.
