    Abstract: In the prodn. of photoconductive compsn. contg. homopolymer(s) (IA) of N-vinylcarbazole and/or its ring-substd. halogen, alkyl, alkoxy or dialkylamino derivs. and/or copolymers (IB) with max. 30 wt.% comonomer, sensitisers (II) derived from carbocyclic aromatic cpds. with no ring substits. and opt. other additives, a film or sheet is produced on an opt. electrically conductive substrate from a soln. of (I) in an organic solvent (III). After drying, this is coated with (II) in the form of an aq. dispersion or powder, then heated above the Tg of (I). The method is useful for incorporating (II) which are (almost) insol. in (III). The photoconductors are useful in the electrophotographic, photoresist, holographic measuring, microfilm and offset printing fields or as replacement for Se in alarm equipment, exposure meters etc.
