Abstract: Desulfurization of hydrocarbon gases comprises using a copper catalyst at -50 to 150 degrees C and 0.1-10 bar. An Independent claim is also included for a catalyst comprising 30-99.8 wt.% copper oxide and 0.2-70 wt.% of a Group IIB, IIIB, IVB, VIB, VIII, IIIA or IVA metal oxide with a melting point of at least 250 degrees C.
