According to said method, the metallic surface is brought into contact with an aqueous medium which contains, as a corrosion inhibitor, a quaternary polymer comprising ammonium groups and urea groups, thiourea groups and/or iminourea groups in a numerical ratio of between 1.5 : 1 and 2.5 : 1.

En un procedimiento para preparar polialquileniminas a partir de alquileniminas en presencia de un solvente líquido, y un catalizador, la preparación se efectúa en forma semi-discontinua en un recipiente de reacción. Dado el caso, la preparación se efectúa en presencia de otros aditivos. Las poialquileniminas obtenidas mediante esos procedimientos y formulaciones de esas polialquileniminas forman igualmente parte del objeto de la invención, especialmente las que presentan una proporción baja de compuestos que contienen cloruro. Esas polialquileniminas tienen usos en los campos de la tecnología médica, los medios de imprenta, el tratamiento de aguas servidas, el tratamiento de superficies, la cosmética, los detergentes para el lavado de ropa, la biotecnología, el envasado, la electrónica, el papel, la química de construcción de edificios, los textiles, la cromatografía, los intercambiadores de iones, la industria petrolera, la cerámica, el vidrio, la tecnología de membranas, los catalizadores, la galvanoplastia, los biocidas o la protección de maderas. Otros usos posibles incluyen inhibidores de corrosión, dispersantes, aditivos en aceites, para la formulación de fármacos, productos para el cuidado del cabello, fragancias y aromas, para la preparación de vectores génicos, para funcionalizar y modificar superficies en galvanoplastia y tecnología médica o para preparar sistemas de limpieza para la industria de semiconductores y baterías de litio.
