Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by using a low output electronic display device such as a non-rear side illuminance type LCD display device that illuminates through the use of an external light energy by an external light source as a view finder and/or an image viewer. SOLUTION: An LCD display device 32 of a digital camera 30 that is contained therein displays a received digital image 44 without using a rear side illuminance light. The position of the display device 32 is changed between an extended position and the contained position in a direction of the arrow 40 and illuminates at the extended position by using an external light energy from an external light source 42. The external light energy transmits from a front side to a rear side of the display device 32 and then the user views the received digital image 44 on the display device 32. That is, the display device 32 is lighted by the external light energy by the external light source 42 independently of a power supply (that is, battery) of the digital camera 30.
