Abstract:
A container (10) for containing liquid to be ejected includes a negative pressure producing member accommodating chamber (34) for accommodating a negative pressure producing member, said negative pressure producing member accommodating chamber being provided with an air vent (12) for fluid communication with ambience and a liquid supply portion (14) for supplying the liquid to a liquid ejecting head; a liquid containing chamber (36) substantially hermetically sealed except for a fluid communication path through which said liquid containing chamber is in fluid communication with said negative pressure producing member accommodating chamber; a partition (38) for separating said negative pressure producing member accommodating chamber and said liquid containing chamber, said partition being provided with an ambience introduction path for introducing the ambience into said liquid containing chamber from said negative pressure producing member accommodating chamber, said ambience introduction path forming a capillary force generating portion.
Abstract:
An ink container, wherein a liquid retaining member accommodation chamber (7) accommodating a liquid retaining member (2) is in fluid communication with an ink accommodation chamber (9) accommodating ink through a fluid communication path (10) and wherein an ink introduction groove (21) extending to said fluid communication path (10) is provided in said ink accommodation chamber (9).
Abstract:
In a liquid container for an ink jet apparatus, provision is made of means which requires only one liquid preserving container for a single kind of liquid even when a plurality of ink jet recording elements are used and which can also be expected to improve the printing density and the printing speed. For this purpose, a plurality of liquid supplying portions are provided in a liquid container having a liquid containing portion containing therein a sponge or the like for holding a single kind of liquid, and a liquid supplying port for supplying the liquid to ink jet recording elements.

Abstract:
A packaging structure of the present invention is provided for an ink tank (4) having an ink supply port (9) and an atmosphere communicating port (7A). It has a seal member (2) for sealing the ink supply port (9), a seal member (1, 1') for sealing the atmosphere communicating port (7A), and an integrated covering member (3, 3', 3'') for integrally covering the ink tank (4) having at least these seal members. A partial breakage of the covering member leads to open the atmosphere communicating port (7A) at first. Thus, the combination of the packaging structure and the ink tank (4) is constructed so as to open the atmosphere communicating port (7A) at first with reliability. It is functionally required at the time of pulling out the ink tank (4) from the package and also at the time of physical distribution without causing an ink leakage, regardless of the shape of the ink tank (4).
