Abstract: Selecting switches (106) are provided near a convertor (101) for converting an optical image into an electric signal, thereby enabling the electric signal before or after it was stored to be efficiently selected. A plurality of convertors (101) may be provided and when an electric signal is not output from one of the convertors, the other convertors can be used. The analog electric signal output from the convertor is binarized by a reference level signal before it fluctuates. An electric power consumption when the apparatus is not used is prevented by power controller arranged near a tactile sensing display (104).

Abstract: A data input device is disclosed, which has a housing with a large number of keys, a transparent panel arranged on the keyboard and a cover arranged on the housing to prevent incorrect input. The cover preventing incorrect input has openings in the places which correspond to the keys on the keyboard. The transparent panel is flexible and prevents the penetration of moisture such as rain or saliva into a basic body of the data input device.

Abstract: The invention relates to a pattern information reading apparatus in which pattern information such as characters or figures is read and stored in a memory and, thereafter, the stored pattern information is converted into tactile information and output as necessary. The apparatus has means for adjusting a moving speed of the pattern information which is output as tactile information. The apparatus is fitted to the reading capability of the user by such an adjustment. The apparatus also has means for comparing to see if the information which has been read at a preceding time point coincides with the information which was read at the present time point or not with respect to the pattern information such as characters or figures. By updating the different read information, the amount of storage data can be reduced.

Abstract: A reading device for image pattern information is described, in which image pattern information such as those for handwritten characters or figures are read and stored in a memory device, after which the stored image pattern information is converted, according to requirement, into tactile information and is output. The device has equipment for adjusting the sequential speed of the image pattern information output as tactile information. By means of an adjustment of this type, the device is matched to the "reading" ability of the user. In addition, the device has equipment for comparing, with respect to the image pattern information for handwritten characters or figures, whether the information read at a previous point in time coincides with the information read at the present point in time, or not. By means of updating the various information read, the quantity of data stored can be reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To permit the information being entered or edited to be confirmed without using braille display by providing a means for comparing braille information entered from a key input means with one stored in a storage means and a means for outputting the comparison result as voice information. CONSTITUTION:Input keys 2a-2f are provided, each connected to the corresponding factor of six points of braille, key input data is stored in RAM 13 by their respective key operations and the data is sent out from the RAM 13 by I/O interface 14. Each of data comparison parts 15a-15g consists of three input-and circuits and one of the three inputs depresses the input key when the data of the RAM 13 is confirmed. The inverted data of RAM 13 is entered into the one other input and a pulse shape to vibrate a piezoelectric buzzer is entered into the rest of them. Therefore, when the data which has already been entered into the RAM 13 is in agreement with the key input, the blind can be informed of the data agreement, for example, by buzzing.
