Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable constitution by easily introducing a computer program by providing objects, attributes, and relation among the objects needed by a default bundle of an installed object to provide the operation version of a computer program. SOLUTION: An administrator requests his or her computer system to install application (S201). Installed objects (A, B, and C) are loaded and constitution data of model objects (A and B) are displayed on the screen (S202). The administrator accepts those model objects (A and B) together with pairs of their default attribute values and object relations or changes the default attribute values or relations (S203). The model objects (A and B) and installed objects (A, B, and C) are combined to generate image objects (A, B, and C) (S204).

Abstract: A display system has cursor definition memory for storing data defining a graphics cursor, a cache for the temporary storage of a portion of the graphics cursor for display on a display device, the cache being such that its data rate is sufficient to support the display of the graphics cursor, and control logic for updating the cache from the cursor definition memory at a slower data rate. The cache need only be large enough to store a portion of the cursor at any one time as the graphics cursor is only displayed for a fraction, for example one-tenth, of a scan line and the cache can be updated during the portion of the scan time when the cursor is not displayed. Through the use of a small cache operable at the required data rate, inexpensive memory which does not support the required data rate can be used for the cursor definition memory.

Abstract: A message broker 12 provides for application integration amongst a plurality of data processing applications. The broker has a plurality of data processing nodes, where the data processing applications communicate by passing messages through data processing nodes of the broker. Messages received by the broker are transformed into a tree structure before being passed through data processing nodes of the broker. A list of destinations for a message is generated while a message passes through a data processing node of the broker. Abstract: Display data is stored in a display memory in densely packed format in all display modes thanks to memory controller logic which modifies original addresses for mapping display data into the display memory such that a stream of data for driving a display device can be generated from sequential memory locations. This enables the display memory to take advantage of the benefits of dual-ported memory technology whilst maintaining compatibility with VGA display modes. In order to provide complete VGA compatibility, even in unusual applications, a duplicate auxiliary display memory for the storage of the display data in accordance with the original addresses can be provided. This auxiliary display memory is not used for updating the display, but solely for the retrieval of the display data.

Abstract: UK9-87-008 DISPLAY SYSTEM The present invention relates to a display system comprising a display buffer 36 data indicative of picture elements with a facility for moving an image from a source to a destination position by manipulating the data in the display buffer. The present invention provides this facility by having means for reading, processing and Storing bursts of display buffer words. In the described embodiment of the invention control logic 44 first causes a burst of display buffer words containing bytes representative of the image in its source position to be read out from the display buffer. These words are passed through a barrel shifter 66, where the word is rotated as necessary and stored in appropriate byte locations in a FIFO buffer 68. The FIFO buffer has the capability to write to two word addresses simultaneously so that data words are created in the FIFO buffer which contain data in the correct alignment for writing unmodified into the corresponding display buffer words. When the source has been completely read or the buffer is full (whichever comes first) the display adapter automatically switches from reading to writing and stores the burst of data words it has in its FIFO buffer into memory at the destination locations.
