Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keyboard having the home positions of control keys such as cursor keys. SOLUTION: A notebook sized personal computer includes an area where keys such as character keys and controls keys are arrayed and a palm rest 53 which adjoins to keys. Cursor keys 65, 67, 69, and 71 as some of the control keys are arranged adjacently to the palm rest and a tilt area 101 which can be discriminated tactilely from the main surface area of the palm rest is formed as a home position adjacently to those keys. The position of the tilt area 101 can be confirmed tactilely, so that cursor keys can be operated by touch typing.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide such a structure of an operation part for adjusting or operating the hardware function that does not greatly interrupt the input operations of data or instructions and is easy to operate even for a physically handicapped operator. CONSTITUTION: This information processor is easy to operate even for a physically handicapped operator by arranging operation parts 31 to 35 on the same surface where a data input part is prepared to control or operate the hardware functions associated with the processor, so that the input operations of data or instructions are not greatly interrupted when the parts 31 to 35 are operated. Furthermore, the operating directions of the parts 31 to 35 are set vertical to the surface of the processor, so that the operator is just required to push the surface of the processor for operations of the parts 31 to 35.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a portable computer device of which the height and the angle of a display part can be adjusted even the rear space of an installation place is restricted. SOLUTION: With respect to a note type PC 10, a hinge 36 which makes an LCD unit 24 turnable around an axial line of turning which is orthogonal to the vertical direction of the LCD unit 24 is provided approximately in the middle position in the vertical direction of the LCD unit 24 arranged on a cover body 16. The hinge 36 is attached to a slide plate 30 and can be moved in the vertical direction relative to a frame 18 of the cover body 16 and is arranged in a position higher than the frame 18. Thus the height and angle of the LCD unit 24 can be adjusted though restrictions are placed on the rear space of the place where the note type PC 10 is installed, and it is so set that the display picture can be easily seen.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a docking type function providing device which can be docked with any of two or more types of portable apparatuses via a common device side connector without inconvenience. SOLUTION: The docking type function providing device, providing a predetermined function via the connector to the portable apparatus which has docked with the device, comprises: a coupling face 1 which is coupled to an apparatus side coupling face on the portable apparatus on docking; the connector 2 on the device side which is provided on the coupling face 1 for being connected to a connector on the apparatus side by the coupling; and a guide face 3 which is parallel to a face intersecting the coupling face 1 and guides a guided face on the portable apparatus on docking, so that the position of the guide face 3 can be changed in a direction of intersecting the guide face 3. Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the operability of touch or pen-inputting by providing a connecting means so that a cover unit can be placed on a system main body whichever the cover unit is placed with the surface having a displaying section downside or upside. CONSTITUTION: A cover unit 4 is constituted so that the upper end faces of a connecting means 10, the cover unit 4, etc., can be flushed with each other when the cover unit 4 is closed. When the unit 4 is integrally rotated against a system 2 in order to mainly use the displaying function of a displaying section 6, the unit 4 becomes un-rotatable, because the unit 4 is latched by the connecting means 10 at a prescribed angle. When the latch section of a rotation controlling means 14 is pressed down in such a state, the unit 4 rotates against the connecting means 10. When the unit 4 and connecting means 10 are placed on the system 2 by integrally titling the unit 4 and means 10 forward after the unit 4 is sufficiently rotated to the rear side of the connecting means 10, the displaying section 6 is inclined at an appropriated angle from the horizontal plane and pen-inputting operating, etc., can be performed easily.
