    Abstract: Provided is a composite material including a plurality of porous silicate particles having a glass phase structure, a first active metal adsorbed into the glass phase structure of the porous silicate particles, and a modified layer containing a second active metal formed on the surfaces of the porous silicate particles. The porous silicate particles have an average pore diameter of from 3 nm to 50 nm, and the first active metal includes at least one of sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium.

    Abstract: A light switchable device is provided. The light switchable device includes a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer disposed opposite the first conductive layer, and a sealant layer disposed between the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer. The first conductive layer, the second conductive layer, and the sealant layer form a closed space. The light switchable device also includes a light switchable layer disposed in the closed space, wherein the light switchable layer includes a plurality of alignment structures and polymer-stabilized liquid crystals (PSLC). The plurality of alignment structures is disposed on the first conductive layer or the second conductive layer, and the PSLC's are distributed between the plurality of alignment structures. A height of the plurality of alignment structures is less than a height of the sealant layer, and greater than or equal to 5% of the height of the sealant layer.

    Abstract: method for diagnosing corrosion of an underground storage tank system is provided. The method includes the following steps. A sample from the underground storage tank system is collected, wherein the sample comprises at lease one metal ion. The species and the concentration of the metal ion in the sample are detected by an analysis instrument. A concentration threshold value is determined from a database according to the species of the metal ion. A mapping step is performed, wherein the concentration of the metal ion and the concentration threshold value are compared to diagnose if the underground storage tank system is corroded.
