    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the bit rate of a digital radio communication system. SOLUTION: A receiver 50 is made of a plurality of antenna elements 55-1 to 55-n which receive signals sent from a transmitter having a plurality of transmission antenna elements as signal vectors, a signal preprocessing unit 60 and a decoder 65. The preprocessing unit 60 preprocesses the signal vector. Preprocessing is conducted by subtracting a decoding result obtained by decoding the signal vector preprocessed by the preprocessing unit 60 from the signal vector under processing and nullifying elements of the signal vector having been received after the signal vector under processing and not processed yet from the signal vector under processing.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a data transmission bit rate to a value very close to a limit of Shannon by devising the digital radio communication system so that an n-dimension system is disassembled into (n)sets of linear systems with the same capacity (processing capability) so as to conduct interference elimination processing among the signals. SOLUTION: A receiver 50 is made up of a plurality of antenna elements 55-1-55-n which receive a signal sent from a transmitter having a plurality of transmission antenna elements as a signal vector, a signal pre-processing unit 60 and a decoder 65. The pre-processing unit 60 applies preliminary processing to the signal vector. The preliminary processing is conducted by subtracting a decoding result obtained by decoding the signal vector subjected to preliminary processing by the pre-processing unit 60 from the signal vector under processing at present and nullifying elements of the signal vector having been received after the signal vector under processing at present and not processed yet from the signal vector under processing at present. The decoder 65 decodes the result obtained from the preliminary processing of the signal vector.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device which can process signals to be transmitted from various antenna, for improving the capability of a receiver that extracts these transmitting signals from the received signals, regardless of some correlations in a MIMO system. SOLUTION: The number of bit streams to be transmitted simultaneously is adjusted and decreased, according to the correlation level, and at the same time plural versions of every bit stream weighted in various ways are transmitted at the same time. These weighted versions are coupled together for generating a single-coupled weighting signal. A receiver processes the received signals, as through all signals arrived at a receiving antenna with no correlation. A weight vector can be decided with a forward channel transmitter, by making use of the channel characteristic of a forward link that is notified to a transmitter of a forward link when the channel characteristic is transmitted from a receiver of a forward link via a transmitter of a reverse link.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce all interference between wireless terminals by allocating codes to plural wireless terminals based on decided plural channel characteristics. SOLUTION: A combined signal is transmitted to a simultaneous channel estimator 114 and a space-time matched filter 116. The simultaneous channel estimator 114 receives a base band signal and decides characteristics κpk of a wireless channel where the signal is received. A base station 102 has a code optimizer 118 for allocating a code to a wireless terminal. A processing set is initialized with respect to one of the wireless terminals. A target wireless terminal is selected from the processing set. When there is only one wireless terminal in the processing set, the wireless terminal is selected as the target wireless terminal. Regarding the wireless terminal selected as the target, random code search is executed.

    Abstract: A CDMA wireless communication system for communicating with wireless terminals (110) comprises a channel estimator (114) for determining characteristics of the wireless channels of the wireless terminals. The channel properties used to determine the weight vectors may include the channel response from the transmitter to the receiver and the covariance matrix of noise and interference measured at the receiver.
