    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable transmission at a fast bit speed by giving an arbitrary order to symbol components of a vector signal and allowing the receiver to determine components of a transmit symbol after determining the best rearrangement of sent components, starting detect processing from the start level, and off-setting interference from lower levels when there are interferences for the respective levels. SOLUTION: The receiver 200 includes RF receiver sections and they interface with the antennas respectively. The receiver 200 further includes a preprocessor 60, a symbol processor 65, and a multiplexer 70. The processor 60 receives signals from the (n) antennas as signal vectors and preprocesses the received signal vectors to remove the interference between the signal components forming the vectors. This process includes a process for subtracting the interference due to a sent symbol detected before from a currently processed vector.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce performance degradation caused by the offset of a carrier frequency by multiplying a plurality of respective reception signals by corresponding time changing complex variables, weighting them and processing them. SOLUTION: Signals u(t) transmitted by a mobile station 10 through a mobile object antenna 12 are respectively the reception signals s1 (t)-sM(t) and received from the M pieces of antennas by a base station 16. The reception signals re weighted by a multiplier 20 provided with weights w1 (t)-wM(t) and corresponding weighted signals x1 (t)-xM(t) are generated. The weighted signals x1 (t)-xM(t) are coupled by using an adder 24 next, output signals y(t) are generated and they are supplied to a base station equipment next. In an application processor circuit 14, the reception signals s1 (t)-sM(t) are weighted and coupled and signal quality in output is improved.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of a receiver by composing a device of a processing circuit for supplying a processed signal and a delay circuit coupled to the processing circuit and performing prescribed delay so that the processed signal can be coincident with following data burst. SOLUTION: A signal u(t) transmitted from a mobile station 10 through a mobile antenna 12 is received through M pieces of antenna 18 to a base station 16 respectively as received signals from s1 (t) to sn(t). The received signals are respectively weighted by using a magnifier 20 having weight from w1 (t) to wn(t), and respectively correspondent weight signals from x1 (t) to xn(t) are generated. The weight from w1 (t) to wn(t) are generated from a weight generating circuit 22 while using the signals from s1 (t) to sn(t) and an output signal y(t). In order to improve signal quality at the time of outputting, the signals from s1 (t) to sn(t) are weighted and coupled at an applique processor circuit 14. Weight control is performed for suppressing the average square law error of the output signal to a minimum.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance by generating and combining weighted receive signals by weighting respective receive signals by using the weighted mean value of a coherent reference signal value and a constant modulus reference signal value as a composite reference signal. SOLUTION: Both component reference signals generated by multiplying the coherent reference signal 2221 by a weighting parameter βand the constant modulus reference signal 2222 by (1-β) are combined additively by an adder 2217 to generate the composite reference signal Zn 2219. This composite signal drives a weighted calculation process. A continuously adjustable weighting parameter β 2225 determines the point where characteristics similar to CMA of the composite reference signal 2219 and characteristics similar to coherence meet each other. To quicken convergence during initial weighted acquisition and exclude constant modulus interference, a numeral which is close to 1 or 1 can be selected as β. Then β can be shifted toward zero so as to reduce the influence of phase rotation and a determination error.

    Abstract: An apparatus for performance improvement of a burst mode digital wireless receiver comprises a processing circuit for processing a plurality of received signals and providing a processed signal and a delay circuit for introducing a predetermined delay to the processed signal. The delay circuit is coupled to the processing circuit. The predetermined delay is such that the processed signal is delayed to correspond with a later data burst. The processing circuit weights and combines the received signals, where the processing circuit reduces a mean squared error of an output signal.
